Hrm... I don't think I'm a writer. I love reading, but... well, when that local author offered me a job writing for her publication, I didn't feel the urge to take her up on the offer...

I don't find in that strange in the slightest. My robes have two pockets on the outside, but six on the inside, three of which are big enough to house the largest tome I can think of.
