Welcome to the comm! I certainly look forward to more of your posts! :)

This place looks amazing and so sad. I'm fascinated by abandoned cemeteries. The disrespect of someone stacking a bunch of tires there really strikes me. And oh wow, is that graffiti on that mausoleum?

Every shot is well-taken, but I particularly like the one with the broken and cracked stairs and the one of the pillar that seems to be sprouting greenery. And the one with the kitty. ;)

Thank you, I look forward to seeing what comes from this community...

Like many, I am most upset by the vandalism than by the natural over-growth of the place.
The ivy and trees create a kind of calm and peaceful feeling, whereas the tires and graffiti just create anger.

Pics like this just make me want to goo and clean up the place. (And since this in Philly, it would make a wonderful setting for some "Cold Case" eps. Just sayin', y'know.)

I wonder when it was abandoned. Some of those headstones look fairly modern.

Not all of the cemetery is abandoned, just the old section.
Mind you that the old section is quite a large chunk of property though...

The graves right in front of the old entrance way are new ones.
You can see them in a few of the images above.
They also mow the lawn around the newer areas, though not very well...
Right behind that old entrance way however, lies the old and forgotten cemetery.

Wonderful and sad photos. The tires over the hero's grave is really really sad.

I wonder why they haven't had some volunteers go out and clean that up.

The movie was also great, what was the music you used on it?

My guess as to why this place has yet to be cleaned up is that the over-growth is so bad now,
that it would likely require a very good amount of money to clean the place up.
Just in transporting the removed plant life alone would likely cost a fair amount...

As for the movie, we used "Casper's Lullaby" by James Horner.
We always credit the composer in our video info, you just don't see that info unless you go to the video's URL.

Glad you like the set, thank you.

I am going to have to make a trip to this place soon.
A perfect combination: abandoned cemetery.

I hope you bring a camera when you visit it... and perhaps tick spray.

Great post man. Your photos paint a pretty spectacular walk through.
I especially like the background you wrote up on this place. Thanks again.

Glad you liked the post, thank you.

I always include as much history as I can before the images.
I feel they have a much deeper impact once you understand their background...
