The shelter did end up taking the cats from the Meriden hoarder. It wasn't fifty, it was sixty-seven. I don't know if anyone here can picture that many cats, so let's just say it's a shitload. It turns out that the house they were taken from wasn't a house either, but a two-bedroom apartment.

Pictures of the Meriden cats under here )

let me show you it, also into cats

So, here through my sister (fleurdelista) and letting you know I'm sending a tiny little package of a towel and a hideous red and white checkered twin sheet. Let me know if the thought of the sheet horrifies you and I will not post.

(Also, I could not work at a shelter. I would want to take all the kitties home. I do wish I lived closer, because I would totally take a black kitty (or any kitty!) off your hands.)

Hideous sheets are my favorite. :) They give us all a good laugh. Thank you!

If I thought I could get away with putting a cat ina cardboard box and mailing it to you, I would do that. I think the cat might be a bit annoyed by the time it got to you, though.

Heh, I think that is why the sheet was purchased in the first place.

::laugh:: It very probably would be. Ah, well, there are shelters around here for when I do get a cat.

Would it be alright for me to link to this post from my LJ? I totally do not want to presume.

There's nothing better than owning intentionally horrible things. I have a few pairs of knee socks for that purpose.

That would be great of you, thank you so much!

After I move, I may have some stuff you guys can use -- old sheets and pillowcases and such. I don't really know what I have right now, but believe me I will send something.

Thank you, both for donations and for pimping. It's really wonderful of you.

You're welcome. I love kitties (and all animals), and if I wasn't allergic to cats I would totally work in a shelter too. I can't stand to see any animal mistreated, and you guys do such good work with them.

If it's alright with you, I may post this to sf_drama's OTT Tuesday, because you might get more exposure that way.

I would like to order for you some stuff on the net (since I live in England and do not have a Paypal account) but I confess to having no idea of US online petshops for accessories or food...Do you have any recommendations? Thanks!

Places like www.Petsmart.com and www.petco.com, or even Walmart.com. We don't need anything anything fancy, just the basic basics.

Thank you very much. :)

NOTE TO ALL NON-NORTH AMERICANS: to pay with your foreign credit or debit card on US websites is almost impossible, unless you want to pay more in 'shipping/handling fee' than on your order...
The good thing is that if you give euros or british pounds, it converts to plenty of dollars at the current exchange rates!
Cottontrail, I really tried to order stuff, but with a foreign credit card I had to give up. It was easier to create a Paypal account! I sent you £40 for the shelter, which should be almost $80, could you please confirm that you received it?

I received and I can't even tell you how much I appreciate it. Actually, money is easier to deal with than supplies anyway, because the vet bills are absolutely astounding. We have a deal with the local vet so we can get discounts on certain procedures and have a running debt instead of paying for everything when it gets done.

I might be able to send some linens when I go back to my old living space as well. Is it alright if it takes a bit of time to gather and such?

We always need linens, so anytime you can do it is just fine. I don't want anyone to feel pressured, so don't worry about it if you can't or if it takes a while.
