Witnesses will be needed for a post-mortem examination. I will be the operating room of the basement lab, this afternoon.

"In that case, poor man, he's still here," says Hisoka, shaking his head. There's a wry little smile on his face. He glances at the pancreas, and a slightly brooding look takes the place of the smile. "If you should happen to learn anything new about that darkness around Aramat's heart, I'd like to hear about it," he says.

"You and Genkai and the rest of the Agency will be the first to know if I can detect anything else," he says, seeing to weighing the spleen and making a note of the weight. "Subjects usually don't twig me, but this one does."

Hisoka nods. "I'm sure all of us would want to know," he agrees. "And I guess Aramat was kind of a mystery to everyone who knew her? To me, anyway."

[It'll be interesting when Aramat returns with tales of that portal her soul went through! FTB after your next?]

"I think she would have wanted it that way," he says, looking down at her with a hint of something like compassion. "But I probably don't have to tell you that the old saying 'Dead men tell no tales' is at best a lie: she's unwittingly telling a lot about herself, some we might find, and some that might pass with her."
