Bookish Things

I decided on a whim to do a 100 books reading project. That way I can fail marvelously!
I figure even if I don't complete it, it may as well push me to actually getting some more reading done and improving my collection of literature. So its win-win! Plus, its fun and I love starting new projects and never finishing them. (Proof being I currently ( Read more... )

Thank you so much for the suggestions! :) I was hoping you would have something. I thought, 'Sammykins will have great ideas!'
I actually picked up Atlas Shrugged today!

I wish so as well! :( I'm worried once I start classes this fall I'll lose all of my time.
Also, when are you going overseas?! I'm so excited for you! ♥

I'm really looking forward to it then! I've heard it really highly recommended and now I'm even more sure about it. I kind of can't wait to start it. :)
Thank you! There's definitely a ton on there I've been meaning to read forever but just never got around to!

Ahhh, September! I think that will be a nice month to travel. ♥ I know you're going to have such an amazing experience. You must update as much as possible! (When you aren't out exploring!) I'm so curious what it must be like there.

Also, icon! That song is so addictive.

Haha, we ended up going out to eat today and stopped by the bookstore for coffee.
Of course I had to go sneak around and I ended up picking this up, so! :) One less book to get a hold of.
I really wanted the book with Stephen Colbert you we're telling me about but I didn't have time to look. :( So I'm hoping to order it online in a few weeks!

Good luck with your goal!

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger blew my mind. I adore it and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Also: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto and Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. All amazing.

I completely agree with The Time Traveler's Wife. I have actually read it and its definitely one of my favorite books. I ate it up. :) I'm tempted to put it on the list again so I can give it a re-read!

I haven't devoured any of the others yet, though! So on the list they go. Thank you so much for the suggestions - they all sound great.

Anything by Sonya Sones. Her books take a few hours to read, and no not just cause I read fast either lol. She writes in a kind of poem form and all of her books are fantastic, especially What My Mother Doesn't Know and What My Girlfriend Doesn't Know.

I'll definitely check out what she has and add some of it to the list! :) I actually really enjoy poetic writing, so it sounds like some beautiful reading.
Thank you so much for the helpful suggestions! And it'll be nice to have some shorter reading on the list.

Eeeeee, thank you so much for all the suggestions!
Looks like I'm going to have more Palahniuk on my list than I thought! ♥ But it's a good thing. Haven't heard of any of the others except Hairstyles of the Damned. Which I own. :) It was pretty good - though it could use a re-read since its been awhile.

Thank youuuuu, I hope I can finish it! Haha, look at me getting all ahead of myself - I haven't even started!

I love Chuck Palahniuk. And those are my favorite books by him. The fact that you have read hairstyles of the damned makes me really happy. Haha. I don't know why though. :]
