There was this little rocky beach near my childhood home, and on the beach was a driveway, and the driveway was always flooded. I'm talking a magnificent puddle... Then one day our parents fished us out and explained that puddles were for little kids and that seeing how we were big girls now, we should try the sea. I did not like it at first. The sea was huge, cold, green and full of algae. The rocks poked my feet, unlike the mud-covered asphalt. There were waves and a serious potential of jellyfish. I remember standing in the cold tide and watching waves break over rocks all around me, and it was just... no.

This was lovely. What a storyteller.
