Wow, what a lovely shout-out to come home to. Um, we read completely different BBs, except each other's apparently.

Totally jealous of Van Con. You'll have to report back whether it's worth the money. I'm still thinking about Chicago in the fall. And you should get some kind of award for dedication to the fandom for literally rearranging your sleep for it!

Amendment 1 - I got internet in my new apartment. For three years I did research read fic in my office, which usually wasn't a problem, except that a couple of times students insisted on coming around to my side of the desk to show me something, inevitably when there was gay incest porn research about masculine identity and sexuality open. Then I'd have to do the scrambledy mouse click, which is never not suspicious. But now I have internet, right in my house, and all I've done for like a solid week is catch up on fic. So this list is timely.

Amendment 2 - Can I add Windfall for the Non-Believer to this list? It just hit every right note and had me fist-pumping the entire read. It's season 6, post-resouling, Sam/Dean casefic with mistaken-for-gay and pretend!couple. Even if you don't like those tropes, they're done so well here - so true to character - that it just works beautifully and leads to hot incest. There is also AMAZING bonding between Rufus and Bobby and a hilarious uber-serious Cas. All the character voices are ( ... )

The sleep schedule is not making me happy. I was determined to sleep all the way until 3 am, and as soon as it got dark, I started waking up every 1-2 hours. Then I would look at the clock and go, "BUMMER! Not even midnight yet!" Where is my award, dammit?

Now I'm really curious to know what other fics were your favorite this year. For science :) And thank you for the rec, I'm gonna give it a try. I probably skipped it because I hate the "pretend gay couple" trope but hey, I'm not a fan of the mind bonded trope either and "Under My Skin" completely rocked it.

And yay for Internet at home! Now you can do your very important research without interruption.

Finished reading "Allegory of the Cave," "Little Things," and "Like Luggage." So what I've learned from this experience is not to judge by summaries! I'm working my way through the rest of your list...
