Watch where you are stepping today, folks, because scuttling around on the ground is a beetle.  Not just any beetle, no.  A two foot long Time Beetle.  One who, thanks to the wonders of Nexus translating ability, now can converse with things that aren't bugs.

"Unfortunate, yes. In my particular current situation, he is still within his rights. I have...quite dramatically terminated an arrangement in the past when it was altered beyond my willingness."

In the Nexus, there's generally a bigger bug. In this case, its a 20 foot tall giant, undead, rhinoceros beetle look-a-like. Also, he is not happy.

"I did not get 'hired' so much as forced into my current position, but I was unaware that fighting away a constant stream of adventurers seeking to slay me and steal treasure should be the proper task of a majordomo, along with being regulated to guard duties, rather than leading armies" Anub'Arak practically spits out, before looking at the smaller beetle curiously.

Teebey's jaw drops. Well, as much as it can. "Wow, man. That had to suck. This is why I told myself I was going to stay faaaar away from the military."

Anub'Arak nods. "Hmm. I am stuck in it, however, so I am at least content with it"

"Yes. It's okay, though. We killed him."

"There's a reason you don't hire assassins to protect someone."

The two 'men' grin evilly.

Beetles kind of freak Metody out, being as they are things that don't have bones. But this one has asked the perfect question.

He sighs more wearily than someone who looks about eighteen ought to sigh. "You pretty much just described being a grad student. I think my whole job description was 'other duties as assigned.'"

Metody is small, pale, and clad in a horrifically ugly Hawaiian shirt featuring hibiscus and jellyfish on a blue background. He is surrounded by a good two dozen pouncing critters made of bone, each one covered in silk hibiscus. There is a theme here, and it leaves spots on the vision if you look at it too long.
