It's a lanky, disheveled figure that ambles in: ill-fitting coat, stained trousers, waistcoat even homelier than the face above it, which is going some. He's missing a hat, and his hair needs a trim, and everything else needs a wash, but at least he shaved. ...Probably

"Arguably. Do you want something more?"

Grantaire readjusts his focus, with some effort. "Why, you offering something?"

Holds out his glass for answer.

[pyladis]

The face creases into a lopsided grin, no more handsome but mildly more appealing. "Ah. One of, one of those. D'you know, I think I'm lost? Damnedest thing. I go down here..."

Matthew grins, looking the young man up and down. "Aye, looks like it. Need a hand there?" He reaches to steady him...and perhaps a quick check for valuables.

"I'm all right, I'm all right," proving it by swaying in the other direction and having to catch himself on a Convenient Nexus Column. "Ah, there. Good morning."

The pockets, sadly, are devoid of anything more interesting than spare French change. Guess where the rest went.

Damn. Ah, well, the lad looked pretty poor to begin with, but the drunk are always an easy target. "Mornin' is it?"

"Is it?" Grantaire echoes vaguely, preoccupied by the business of achieving verticality. "May as well be. My head aches, I'm obliged to walk about, I am tormented by blazing lights-- if it's not morning, Aurora has a twin brother, the sly bitch, one who has even worse taste." With which declamation he shoves his hands in his pockets again.

"Most likely, sir," Guillame says politely.

[pyladis]

Big, cheery, tipsy, ugly grin. "Ah, well, 's all right then. I'm accustomed."

Guillame refrains from saying 'Obviously.'

"Have you been here before, sir? Because you should probably know, many of the drinks here are not safe."

[pyladis]

"Eh?" Grantaire squints at him. "Here? You know, it's the damnedest thing, I don't believe I have. Have I?"

"A bit, maybe," Liam says with a grin. It's not a particularly nice grin, more of a 'ha-ha I laugh at you on the inside for your drunkenness' grin. Seeing other people get drunk for once is rather amusing. "How much did you have to drink?"

[pyladis]

Grantaire is used to that one. It's preferable to the icy 'remove your pathetic self from my presence' stare, anyway. "Enough, I do assure you. Sufficient unto the day. I only ask because ordinarily by the time I'm seeing things, they're less objectionable than that... object," flopping a hand at the Sign. "Damned thing's too ugly to be anything but reality."

"You're awfully eloquent for someone who's drunk." Maybe Liam's just to used to being reduced to a giggling angsting, slurring fit. "If anything'll make you sober fast, it's that sign." Liam has some sunglasses, but he's not sharing.

[pyladis]

"In vino veritas," airily. "Even more objectionable! I won't have it."

Just wait till he gets to the page-long-diatribes stage.

Kip has, of course, the perfect answer. "Not enough." And offers him a bottle :D

Grantaire laughs, an unexpectedly high-pitched rasping squawk. "Damned right. Damned right." And accepts gratefully!
