He comes in with a flash of energy jets from the vents in his suit, and a vorp.
The grin on his face is the smuggiest grin that ever smugged, only he has a damn good reason for it.
There are losses. There are people in pain that need help--and now he has his work cut out for him more than ever before. The damage Annihilus has wrought on the universe has only now been compounded by the ravages of the Phalanx. Peter Quill has his grand ideas for Guardians of the Galaxy, but Rich isn't quite sure he can handle that. He has to do the things to help guard the galaxy AND do things that are more like typical relief work.
But.
But there is a key fact that makes it all worthwhile, and Rich, as always, has to look on the bright side of it: that they can rebuild. That there are people actually left to help and that he's alive to help them.
Alive and free. Cured of the Phalanx virus.
Maybe the grin isn't so much smug as satisfied that the bad guys've bit the big one and there is still a whole wide universe left.
"So. You've helped save the universe yet again, the good guys've won, and most importantly: the bad guys bit the big one exactly like they deserved. How would you celebrate? Besides running around like a sick chicken helping any people that still need help afterwards, 'cause I'm already doin' that."
