I have been told in the past, and will probably still be asked, "What is so special about John Lennon? He was just a hippie!" and "He was really ugly in his later years, what makes you like him then, if any time?" I have not received these comments from anybody on Live-journal, or any web site. Yes, I do especially. I don't think people know where they are coming from when they make claims like that. And I am really glad you have respect for him. May I add you to my friends?

don't laugh, that's how he was. i love john too....was he a hippy? if he was he was a very clean and rich one. i don't think him to be the typical 'hippie' of the days long ago. he was just 'in style'...

and my response to people who tell me i shouldn't look up to john (or george who i consider my guru) because "they are just dirty hippies' or whatnot is: well, if you always judge a book by it's cover, you're going to miss out on GREAT stories.

but you can't love these men....we don't even know them. we know OF them and ABOUT them...so i suppose you could love that.

their music is a different story...i love george's and john's music (even paul's when i'm in a silly, flirty mood). no music has ever touched me so deeply. george's actually changed my WHOLE view of my faith and religion. that's crazy! but true.

happy to have you aboard the yellow sub of beatles/solo or not fans.

My point in making this statement, is that he didn't back down. Yeah, he probably would throw the rock at you, but what I am saying is, he didn't hide away. If he felt something, he didn't hide it. Heck, he didn't hide Yoko from Cynthia. He didn't hide his opinions of peace and love to the world. I don't love him as he would love Yoko, it's actually quite different. But these vibes can't be explained exactly, so I refer to the word 'love'. As for my friend, I can't really say. She isn't on live-journal to tell her feelings, so I really don't know how to explain it to you.
