So, my cow-girl protadin joins partway through the run, with the rest of you on the second boss.  We beat down said boss, and a shield (Gold-Plated Buckler, to be precise) drops.  Great!  My current shield is a gray, and I'd love an upgrade.  So, since I can use it and I'm the only one in the room who it

I know how hard it can be to stand up to pressure like that (and seriously, ganging up on you? Not cool.) but what I usually do is just remove myself. If I know I'm right, I'll make my point two-three times and if the bullying continues I'll say something like "obviously you don't listen to reason and need to learn your class. Sorry, I'm not sticking around for that." and drop.

Aww, I'm so sorry you ran into these idiots. I wish you had kept your shield but may another drop that is many times better.

I really don't get why you gave in. Shields are basically a stat stick for shamans, it's not like they need it for protection or anything so it did them absolutely no good. Of course the shaman and their friend begging for it when it had no useful stats was ridiculous too.

Remember, you are playing a game to have fun. When it starts turning into bullying, you can drop group and no one will fault you for it, except maybe the bullies and no one cares what they think, anyways. When you win a roll on an upgrade you needed, you've won it fair and square. It's yours. You don't have to trade it to anyone. They had an equal chance to roll on it, the same as you did. Don't feel bad saying no.
