RE: Hunters

Hunters get such a disproportionate amount of hate and criticism that, yeah, when I group with mine, I'm scared to do anything wrong. I've been yelled at for using Multishot, yes, for having my pet on anything but Defensive, and for using traps for CC. Seriously. I even got yelled at by a tank who wasn't in tanking plate when my bear and I saved the group from a complete wipe twice in a row. Why? Because they were squishy and ate floor, so I turned Growl on my bear and kept the mobs off the healer...which was a total asshole move, apparently.

Hunter is a fun class, but boy...we're like everyone's scapegoat if things go wrong, even if it had nothing to do with us.

I actually came in here just to say this. If you're a hunter or DPS DK the automatic assumption is that if something is going wrong it's your fault, and no amount of proving them wrong makes any difference. That's specifically why I haven't done ANY Cata dungeons on most of mine, and none with people I don't know. If I'm out of range of everything the tank is running off and hitting and getting screamed at for pulling mobs off the healer so she can run off and heal the tank before he causes a wipe, yet *I* am somehow to blame for everything that's running all over the other side of the room that the tank can't hold, I'm just done. And that's sadly all too common. The assumption is that every hunter is a huntard and you can't ever prove that you're not. I hate it, but that doesn't change it.

I'm starting to think I have amazing luck because...I never get blamed for anything, and I have a *lot* of hunters. :/

A shame, really. Hunter deeps are pretty great.

Only a DPS DK? My experience is that if you're a DK at all, it's your fault. Always and forever.

The last alt I leveled ran into more tanks than not that didn't know how to keep aoe threat at all. :(

And yeah, tailoring is such a pain. I'm leveling my second to 500 right now and I want to gouge my eyes out.

I am a warlock who is shy of using aoes, and I approve this message.

Seriously. >_> Omen starts yelling at me just for casting immolate on some tanks' targets, much less casting any kind of aoe.

Wow, some tanks are just bad, then. :/

But at the same time, I bet half of them leveled up with heirloomed d(ouche)ps (douchebaggery per second) pulling for them, tanking their own mobs, etc and so on. Ugh.

I guess I just got EXTREMELY lucky. 1.) I'm not a terrible tank (I'm not AMAZING but I'm definitely not bad), and 2.) I've gotten fairly decent groups or I can just deal with dumbasses pulling for me. Had lots of people pull for me, I decided I didn't care anymore, if they die before i can save them... Not my problem.

Luckily I've only really had that happen once when I was tanking (where it actually bothered me, I'm sure it's happened before, too), in a heroic Vortex Pinnacle. The two other dps in my group were in my guild, but the healer and mage weren't. When the mage ignored me asking him to quit pulling for me, I asked the rest of the group not to help him. My guild mates paid attention to me, but the healer kept on healing him. :\ Then he iceblocked and I had to grab aggro or risk the mobs coming after me right after they nommed the healer's annoying face off.
