Those who witnessed Morgana's first arrival might recognize the look on her face; she's trembling, near breakdown. The earlier innocent pleasure she showed is gone, replaced by hurt and fear, and oh so much anger at the world; at everyone who had skirted around the truth; at her father ( Read more... )

Decide if the potential reward is worth the price. If you are willing to live with the consequences of either, do as you wish.

It isn't. That doesn't help me wanting to strangle him...

Faelyn's eyes show little reaction at first. After a moment she shrugs at the young woman's obvious lack of self-control and suppresses an overwhelming desire to yawn. "Then use a catspaw and you shall keep your own hands clean. You can hardly be blamed if the blow comes from someone else."

It's not me I'm worried about!

"Then you don't." The answer is flat and calm, and not without a subtle hint of authority. This doesn't mean there's not some sympathy in Horvath's expression. He's seated on a couch today, with a thermos of tea and a journal to take notes on the Nexus.

"...But I want to. So much." She's gnashing her teeth; she's seen what that road leads to. She hates what that road leads to. But she still feels that anger, boiling beneath her skin.

"You don't want to pay the price of that. I've seen what that can do to someone..." In his world, it's what happened to his best friend, after all. in every other dimension it could describe his own story pretty well.

"I know that! But he deserves it so much... a quiet knife when nobody is looking. I've always been prepared to do that, if...." If he ever became a bad a king as he was to her mind a man. This hardly qualified.

He'd been having a picnic a short distance from the sign when he hears this, and decides to head over there and answer. Zero can remember a situation like that, years ago... though more recent frustration has been because they can't get to the target more than any reasons not to kill him when they do.

"Hold on to what you'll lose, and know that it's worth more than losing your temper. And find something to take the frustration out on..."

"...I know," she whispers, clenching her fists. "But how do I take it? Seeing him? Every day?"

"I don't know what will work for you. For me, it was reminding myself that, if I hurt him, it would hurt my brothers even worse. I'd met alts here who had none of their family left, and didn't even have any memories of them. I wasn't going to let that happen, and if Wily was what we had to put up with to avoid it, so be it."

"It might have stopped working after a while. I was young back then, still young enough to half-believe that maybe if the old man got what he wanted he wouldn't drink so much or toss out punishments on a whim. But he ended up dead anyway, and at least I can say it was mostly his own fault."

"I only found out I have a brother..." Though that didn't stop her from caring for Arthur; much as a prat as he could be...

Adina watches Morgana, but not without sympathy. She wonders what's gotten the young woman so upset.

She types on her PINpoint. Wait. You might get the chance later, when things are in your favor.

She snorts. "It's not a matter of managing the deed; it's a matter of what succeeding would cost me..."

What will it cost you? She does not look impressed.

((Just FYI I'm resetting Lielac, so she doesn't remember Morgana. Also I can ttly reply to posts made before Lielac officially enters the Nexus. Timey-wimey!!))

Lielac mulls the question over. "Punch a wall, usually," she says after a few moments. "If you mean in terms of dealing with the person you want to- hurt... Is this someone whose death would cause major political upheaval?"

"Killing kings generally results in upheaval, yes."

((Noted!))

"Ah." Lielac's not-quite-hidden smile is a mixture of amused and sad. "Is he a good king?"

Because if not Lielac is quite happy to hand over a vial of poison - after making sure she isn't being tricked into killing someone else she shouldn' have. (Totally not related to the complicated smile in response to the subject of regicide. Totally not.)

((And I note your note, yey!))

"Unfortunately so; a bad person, but... a good king."

((Ahah - but I note your noting note!)
