I've just made a post about the whole Robbie Keane thing. Argh. Just, argh. From a fan's POV (Keano played for us way back in the day) I would be gutted to see him flailed over by lasses just 'cos he's signed for Liverpool. He's a good footballer, period. That doesn't change whatever club he's at. If anything brings the falseness of some of the female fans out there home, it's signings like that.

Ew, just ew...

But you have to consider that at Liverpool he'll get a lot more coverage than he did at Tottenham, so it's kind of natural that more people will flail over him. Liverpool have a huge number of fans all over the world, and a good percentage of them are female, so I think it's unavoidable.

Of course, he is a good footballer, no matter which club he's at, but when a player joins your own club, he just becomes that much more special. Yeah, there are female fans who just care about how good looking the player is, regardless of their ability, but on an average most of them will appreciate his footballing talent too.

I agree with you, but I'm afraid I've been guilty of it too.*blushes* I never cared about Owen Hargreaves or Michael Carrick before they joined us. Like I told you earlier, the players become that much more hotter in my eyes when they pull on the United shirt!

That's what annoys, because he shouldn't get loads more coverage just because he's playing for one of the Big Four. He's a great footballer and Spurs are a damn good side with a big history - they're a Premiership team the same as any other...they're just not in the pocket of the sponsors and satellite tv companies. It smacks of hype and it pisses me off that players and fans only seem to believe a player's 'made it' when they're playing for one of seven or eight big name clubs in Europe. He 'made it' for me when he went to Italy, even though it didn't work out, bless him :)

Oh, the squealing...I can't cope. I shall hide! There's a couple of people that write him in fic already, and they're wonderful...but if there's an avalanche of him marrying Steven Gerrard and mpreg, I'll weep! -hides in cellar and refuses to come out-

Lol, eh, mebbie I'd feel that way about my lads if they ever won anything - I think I find them unattractive 'cos they're forever fookin' losing, the muppets!

That's the problem with football these days. Unless you play for the big four, or unless you're the best player in a mediocre team, you don't get noticed. And if you do happen to be the best player in a mediocre team, well chances are that you'll end up at the big four anyways. So it's a vicious cycle really. Spurs aren't a mediocre team, I think they're quite good actually. Thus Robbie didn't really stand out over there.

Urgh, I hope that there won't be any such stories! I swear, there are like only a handful of people who seem to write sensibly these days.

More than the winning, I guess it's the fact that I get to watch them more closely, and see the way they react to certain situations. I love their attitude and commitment, that's what's more attractive for me.

have to say this...

SCHOLESY SO CUTE X3X3X33333! he indeed looks younger in those pics, especially the one that you mentioned :D!

It's always great to see the boys enjoying and having so much fun in the training. I didn't see the match today - was it good :)?

I was thinking of you when I saw those pics! Yeah, he's adorable, and it's amazing how enthusiastic he still is, about everything!

I didn't watch the whole thing, but what I did see, well it was kind of boring. We never really got going. Both Carlos and Wazza were ineffective. And the midfield was bypassed with ease. I don't think Giggs and Scholes are a good combination over there. They missed Michael and Owen. And poor Fletch just doesn't play that well on the right flank. Gaz was great though, he seems to be well on his way back. Eagles did well too. Oh well, it's just a friendly. I'm sure once everyone's back, they'll do much better.

How can they have so much fun at training? :) Training is supposed to be hard work, but they are so enjoying themselves and that is so good to see.

Aww, Wayne and my "grandad" (Fergie) are bonding :). How lovely.

I saw half of today's game and it seemed to me, that both sides took the game very seriously and United players had a good game ( I didn't even have eyes for the other team players, because I have missed United players so much.

I think that's the reason why we have such great team spirit, they really enjoy being with each other and playing together!

I thought that pic was the cutest!

The game was ok, nothing too special. I guess pre-season friendlies do tend to be a bit boring.
