I was so glad that they got back in stride after that nerve-wracking Italy-match. And in this circumstances with that kind of rain. But yes, they tore Russia to pieces and in style, too.
Ramos. I never liked, never really got what the hype was about but he was great yesterday. As was Cesc, yes. I didn't quite get why Xabi didn't get on earlier but I guess, Arogones likes to have Xavi, Iniesta and Silva together in midfield. Poor Torres tried and tried and tried but not his day; he still contributed a lot as he always pulled 2-3 opponents in making room for his teammates.
Great match. Now I just hope Spain will make it all the way but I have a feeling Germany will make it. Just to spite me. ;D
Oh yes, they didn't play all that well against Italy, but I think you are allowed to have a few bad games along with the good ones. Like the cliched saying, "It's the hallmark of champions when you win despite not playing well." I hope that they will go on to be champions!!!
I don't like Ramos much either, but he is a good player. A bit too show-offy for a defender, he tends to muck around too much instead of just clearing the ball. But he was great yesterday. He needs to put in consistent performances liket that.
Yeah, Fernando's movement is amazing, as is the way he controls the ball. He just needs to get the finishing going and then he'd be unstoppable.
Oh no, please, I couldn't bear it if Spain came so far only to lose at the last hurdle. I'm praying that they get through somehow. Although if it goes to penalties, I can't see Germany losing. Lets hope it's settled before that!
Oh, I think they played that badly against Italy. Gotta give Italy some credit - they really know how to defend. And anyway, that match against Italy was probably good training for the finale. Heh.
I hear you about Ramos being too show-offy. That weird attempt of a header in the beginning? Part of me was laughing, the other part was wondering what the heck he was still doing there instead of being back in front of Iker's goal.
Hmm. Not sure about who would come out on top on penalties. Spain does have Iker and they seem pretty confident in their shooting. But let's hope it doesn't come to that anyway because I just hate them anyway. Too much luck involved.
Oh myyyyy. The cuteness of Cesc Fabregas! I feel bad for Villa though :( I just hope Podolski doesn't score another goal, so Villa gets to be topscorer :)
