Manchester United vs Derby

Dec 10, 2007 15:55

This weekend was a great time to be a Manchester United fan. Two of our biggest rivals dropped points, Manchester City lost too, and we manged to cruise to a win in terrible conditions. I know, it was only Derby, everyone's favorite whipping boys, but it was really terrible weather to play football in. I don't know what the rules are, but can't ( Read more... )

Okay. The way I saw it it was a penalty against Derby as well but I am totally willing to conceit here. Lifestream picture quality is a joke and there weren't that many angles and yes, Cristiano can dive with the best of them. And though I abso-fucking-lutely agree that he doesn't dive more than most players in the epl, he sure unpacks the drama when he does, going to ground flailing. Oh well ( ... )

It's difficult to tell isn't it? I've seen like a thousand replays, and yet I don't know for sure. But a hell lot of people seem to think so, and these are passionate United supporters mind you, so I guess we'll have to go with them.

I know! And that is what makes it worse, in the eyes of the refs because it seems like an admission of guilt. I think a lot of players (including Stevie) get away with it because they don't overdo it.

I loved what the author said about next time Cris running into the keeper and seeing how much damage he can cause. I don't blame Cris for getting frustrated. He is condemned if he does do it and doubly condemned if he doesn't! So what is the guy supposed to do?

he's not exactly good in letting things go and putting matches behind himself
That he's not! I think he remembers every bad thing that has happened to him. Like after the Fulham game he mentioned that the same ref had sent him off three years ago. Great memory!

I always have to remember that bit from the homestory where he tells how he shot the tv down from the tree and how he would go up in the spare bedroom to I guess sulk and tear himself apart over every little mistake after a match gone bad. Wah.

And yes, Wayne cheating on him with Carlos is probably not helping. Getting slapped instead of hugged and kissed and cherished. Wah. And I better not find out Carlos' blinding smile was for Wayne. You two better not hurt my Cristianochen! *sulks*

That was so cute wasn't it? And it's wonderful that he cares so much about winning. I think that is what makes him so successful, his never say die attitude. It reminds of his goal against Fulham last season when everyone else had settled for a draw but he refused to do so and scored one of the most sensational goals I have ever seen.

I actually said "OUCH!" when I saw that slap. They probably think it's all macho and all that, but really, I'd much rather prefer the kiss on the neck. So would Cris. I wish Carlos would find someone else to smile at. Like Anderson or Nani or anyone other than Wayne.
