So I was reading this book on hermaphrodites in ancient Greek mythology, and decided to co-opt the term "hybrid."

I'm a hybrid model, I've decided. And don't get me started talking about grafts and root stocks. If I'm gonna have to build an entire identity from scrap parts, at least I can make it be organic... ;)

IMHO, btw, you're the exactly right kind of deafdyke, if it helps.
