I sold my bike

I sold my bike on Craigslist! I was hoping to get $100 out of the guy, and he gave me $115. He is actually selling his bike cuz it's too small, so I'm probably going to go take a look at it. It seems a bit more than I need (shocks, fancy brakes), but it's sub-$200, which is about what I wanted to spend ( Read more... )

What do you need shocks for in the flat lands? If you're gonna get a bike, get a proper street bike.

Right. But if it's what I can get...

I don't really need a bike at all at this point. I'd like a street bike, but the only ones I've seen are $300+ dollars (not that I've looked around all that much). I don't need a mountain bike, but it would work fine.

If you're going to invest $200 into something, you should probably make sure it'll do what you need. I don't really see you ever mountain biking, but I do see you zipping around on city streets. You'll go faster and you'll look cooler.

As a man who mountain biked through the city before getting a street bike, I recommend the appropriate bike. Also, make sure you're not looking at racing bikes.

Also, in the bike stores around here I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a plethora of street bikes for sub $200.
