i spent two hours getting to work because someone called at 8am and told me "business as usual" ...but when i got here, the person who called me wasn't here, and there was an email saying that any nonessential personal did not have to come to work today

We're sitting in the internet cafe...no peppermint schnapps here but there's some at home and if you're lonely later, give us a call. We can always bring you over some company and liquor.

sorry you're stuck downtown and that you almost got hit by a car :( This weather is crazy, eh? I went down to the lake and there are people out there with their cross country skis...and all the kids are whipping down the hills on sleds. you don't see this too often in Seattle

I got a bunch of flack this morning because I sent out an email to my students saying that class would not be cancelled (because the UW didn't decide to cancel classes until 12:30 today), but this girl had her dad call diana smith in the advising office and chew her out because of the lack of safety. So diana and eunice emailed me saying I couldn't tell people they had to come to class. Then I called eunice and she said I could cancel class, so I did, but only after the chew out by eunice. jeez.
