[Private to DELILAH]

Cardmaster. If you would, there is a project I am undertaking of which I think best to inform you.

[/private]

A day of corpses and mysteries, it seems. A pity, that it is only for one day. The corpses could prove useful.

((ooc: action log for Solomon, Network for everyone else))

The City is providing even more than the expected amount of curses, lately.

It seemed a normal rate.
There was a full week with curses once.

A full week? That seems...more than excessive.

You ought not to be so surprised by a day like this.

Less surprised than speculating what possible use such a curse would serve.

Not that many curses seem to possess any particular purpose.

None of the killings I've heard about on the Network really bear your signature.

Should I be flattered, Earl, that you pay such close attention as to check whether each and every murder could have been committed by myself?

[Solomon lifts his hand to rap lightly on his friends door, not pausing to think for a minute that he might be disturbing the 'good' doctor. Dr. Disraeli was the sort that needed more interaction with others. Or if Solomon was to be truly honest with himself, it was that this man that he had suddenly adopted as his friend reminded him acutely of one of his closer human friends back home.]

I wonder what Van's up to without me around...

[After a minutes pause, he knocks again, intent on his impromptu visit.]

[Jezebel is sitting at his desk, painstakingly listing new supplies he will need to further his range of experiments. At the knocking on the door he raises his head - he'd not been expecting company. He does up the top buttons of his shirt, hiding the small black cross his father had given him underneath the layer of clothes.

Pulling on his blazer and straightening his tie to make himself presentable, he checks that the room where he keeps his 'collection' stored is secured, before walking over to the door where the knocking sounds once more. He suspects that he knows who it is...

And indeed, when when he opens the door he finds Dr Goldsmith waiting for him.]

[He smiles warmly at Jezebel, completely disregarding any sign of the other man's sour disposition.]

Dr. Disraeli! I hope you don't mind my stopping in, but I was in the neighborhood...

[Jezebel was a constant source of amusement to the Chevalier. Keeping the warmth in his eyes, he quickly takes note of every nuance of the other man's mood.]

Ah yes, I am disturbing something... but no matter. It's probably work, and that can wait.

[Jezebel refrains from sighing in exasperation - the other doctor's frequent overtures of friendship had not been quite what he had in mind when he had offered him the position of research assistant.

And yet, the man was useful, so for now he would, as always, endure.]

Dr Goldsmith. I was not expecting you. Do come in. Kindly forgive the state of my apartment. As I said, I was not expecting guests.

[He moves aside to let the other man enter, a friendly smile now on his face. It was all too easy to slip into the role of the congenial doctor.]
