I keep seeing promotional things for the new Twilight movie. I do not approve of this. Let me tell you why.

I can't say that I've ever done more than skim through any of the twilight books, and that was bad enough. :(

I couldn't agree more. I think it's appalling that Meyer portrays Bella the way she does - she has no sense of self respect to allow herself to be treated so badly. And she does allow it to happen - her feelings are nothing short of obsessional. The fact that it is portrayed as healthy and normal is just wrong. In fact it's more than wrong, it's dangerous. It romanticises violence, demeans the value of women and completely undermines their rights to their own opinion. It says an awful lot about the beliefs of Meyer, that she honestly cannot see anything wrong in the way Bella behaves. It sets a worrying precedent for the young girls that read these books, in what they should expect, and accept, from a relationship.

These books are a blow for feminists everywhere. And the fact that they're applauded the way they are is frankly quite terrifying.

to be fair i aint read it an am not likely to and I've only read austen sort of and its even pretty shite with zombies in it if you ask me. twilight sounds fuckin terrible though the characters sound liek proper wankers.

Also i seen the trailer to the film thing an its got the worst cgi werewolf in it ever i nearly pissed myself laughin.
