Fallujah

Jun 15, 2007 13:52

This letter was written by an Iraqi named Dulaimy who is still living in the country. It's heartbreaking, but please read it and pass it on. People won't know how awful things really are for the Iraqi citizens unless they hear words straight from their mouths, hearts, and minds.

The following is too long to read but I beg you; please save ( Read more... )

I can't even imagine the hell everyone there goes through every day.

It's horrible. I mean, for everybody.

I know that sometimes the military looks like "bad guy" but when you get right down to it, they have little to do with anything. They're all on damned missions from mr. you know who - and you do what you're told.

I hate it for them. Ugh. :(

Me, too. I wish I could bring them all home right this instant.

I don't want to start a shitstorm but I know multiple people who have been over there and for every one of these people there are 3 or 4 thanking us for being there. I'm not saying anything other than the facts that have been told to me by the people actually there and working with the iraquis themselves.

Josh's unit was responsible for getting girls back in school, watching the kids come and go from the school while IRAQUIS themselves were grabbing the kids and using them as shields so they could go plant bombs and shoot soldiers. When have our soldiers done that? Never. They've also never put a gun in the hand of a 6 year old and shown them how to use it and told them to go shoot the "Infidels."

Not everything is so black and white.

um...this guy LIVES there. He sees what happens in the city every day. I'd think he would know better than any of us.

I am certainly not trying to argue with what your friends have told you, but that doesn't mean that living in Iraq today doesn't suck horribly.
In other words, even if you give a homeless person a sandwich...they're still homeless.
