Pairings/Characters: Lea Michele/Cory Monteith
Rating/Warning: R/NC-17, RPF
Summary: Cory: I wanna get up out of my bed at like, 3 in the morning and walk downstairs in the hotel and wander around Times Square.
Lea: Can I come with you?
Cory: Yes.
Author’s Notes: Written for the Love Our Baby Drabble-a-thon for rinslet who gave the prompt: "Lea/Cory; 3 am in New York, the second time". (2395 words) The beginning dialogue is taken from Cory's Video Diary. The first time they were in NYC was in May for the Upfronts. I'm assuming the second time was in October when Lea took Cory to see 'Rock of Ages', though I make no reference to that. Enjoy! Feedback is ♥

Cory: I wanna get up out of my bed at like, 3 in the morning and walk downstairs in the hotel and wander around Times Square.
Lea: Can I come with you?
Cory: Yes.

Cory should have been exhausted. It was 2:30 in the morning, he'd had a full day of flying, rehearsals and a big dinner with the producers and cast. He should have been tired but his mind was still racing, thinking about the day's events, thinking about the Upfronts tomorrow, thinking about how lucky he was to even be in New York. New York City! Wasn't there a tag line that came after it about how it was the city that never sleeps? He flipped his pillow over, punched it a few times and tried to settle back down under the thin sheet on his bed. He could hear soft snoring coming from the other side of the room where Mark was already passed out in his bed. He tried closing his eyes and willing himself to sleep but his body was still on LA time and just wouldn't cooperate.

He rolled over and checked his iPhone for the time. 2:47am. Lovely. He huffed and opened up TweetDeck and saw that he had several @replies he hadn't read yet. Scrolling through a few, he sighed and closed his Twitter to open up a new chat window. He clicked on a person's name and typing out two words, "you awake?"

Almost instantly his phone lit up with a new response, "Yep!"

"Care to join me for a little stroll around Times Square?" As he typed out his question he knew the response would probably be "no" considering how late it was, but to his surprise his screen lit up with the words, "meet you in the lobby in 5. :)"

After throwing on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt he grabbed his phone, flipcam and room key and exited the room as quietly as he could so as not to wake Mark. In the elevator ride down he glanced at himself in he mirrored doors and ran a hand through his bedhead hair. A moment later the elevator had reached the main floor and pinged as it opened. Lea was already waiting for him, in a pair of jeans, a hoodie and a big grin on her face.

"I'm surprised you were up for this," he said as they walked out of the hotel, smiling down at her as they walked along the sidewalk.

She simply smiled back and noticed that they were walking in step. A couple blocks down and they were surrounded by lights and billboards. Cory's face lit up immediately and he grabbed his flipcam to record this experience.

“Wooo! Times Square at 3am!” he shouted and a group of tourists passing by gave him an odd look. Lea just laughed at him, he looked so cute filming everything and narrating as he walked. He turned the camera onto her putting it close to her face and asked her, “so here we have another personal moment with Miss Lea Michele. Anything you'd like to say?”

“Gimme that!” she giggled and grabbed the flipcam from his hands, turning the camera back on him. She watched his face on the tiny screen grin goofily at her and then give her a wink before he began running around in circles like a little kid. “So what do you think?” she yelled after him.

“It's incredible!” he yelled back. “WOOO!”

He ran back over to her and spoke into the camera. “It's everything I imagined and more,” he said in a mock serious tone, but he was out of breath and his cheeks were red from the exertion. She reached out and patted him on the arm.

“Hey, don't die on me, old man.”

“Who are you calling old?” he questioned. But before she could reply, he had scooped her up into his arms. His right arm held her securily to him while the fingers on his left hand found the soft skin under her sweater and poked her sides playfully. She shrieked as he tickled her and thrashed around a bit until she realized that she could fall at any moment and it would be a very far distance to fall.

“Stop! Stop! Ahhhh, I give up!” she screamed and laughed as he finally stopped tickling her and finally hoisted her over his shoulder and carried her fireman-style over to the red TKTY stairs a few feet away from them. “Coryyy, put me down!” She tried to smack his ass but ended up hitting the small of his back instead, which amused him greatly and awarded her a playful smack on her own ass. “Hey!”

Before she could protest anymore, she felt herself falling and she squealed as he flipped her back over and placed her down gently on the second step up. She grinned at him and tried poking him in the side, but he was too quick and he easily caught both her wrists in one hand and pulled her towards him. Her breath hitched in her throat when she realized how close they were to each other. He hadn't meant to pull her so close, but sometimes he didn't know his own strength. Now she was looking back at him, their faces only inches apart and their height difference solved thanks to the steps and all she could think of was kissing him.

Cory's lips brushed against hers lightly at first but he could have sworn she made the first move forward. He still held her wrists between his right hand but when he felt her hands wriggling to be free he let them twist out of his grasp so he could move both his hands to cup her face. Her own hands went to clutch his t-shirt, fisting the thin material in her hands and pulling him closer. The kiss was slow and soft, their lips barely ghosting over each other. His left hand still cradled her cheek while he put his right hand out to brace himself on the step as he pushed her backwards so they were almost laying down. He knelt between her legs just as he felt the tip of her tongue press against his own. The kiss grew more passionate then, as they shifted their bodies to be even closer. He trailed his left hand down her neck, her back and let it rest on her bum, almost wanting to slip his hand into her back pocket if it would get her closer to him.

“Get a room!” yelled a husky voice beside them and they broke apart, startled by the nearness of this voice. They blinked at an angry looking older woman with disheveled hair and a well-worn sweater glaring back at them. “Young people these days, so disgusting,” she muttered and continued walking.

Cory looked back at Lea who looked a little shell shocked to be laying beneath him, making out in Times Square at 3 o'clock in the morning while a crazy lady just yelled them. It was then that he moved over and sat down on the step next to her and broke out into hysterical laugher. She shook her head but his laughter was contagious and soon she was laughing too, big belly laughs that would make her abs hurt for sure tomorrow.

But she didn't care about tomorrow because right now they were in Times Square at 3am and she had finally kissed the sweetest, dorkiest, and also hottest guy she'd ever laid eyes on and it was all kind of perfect.

Nearly five months later, Cory wakes up to his iPhone alerting him of an incoming message. He sleepily looks at the screen and smiles. He throws the covers off and pads into the bathroom to splash some water on his face, brush his teeth and run a hand through his hair. He pulls his favourite navy blue zip-up hoodie over his t-shirt and groggily steps into the pair of jeans he was wearing a few hours ago. He grabs his key, phone and quietly shuts the door behind him before making his way downstairs.

The October air is chilly and they keep saying it's going to rain but so far the weather has held out. As he crosses the street and walks south, he flips the hoodie over his head and stuffs his hands into the pockets, shivering slightly. A minute or so later and he sees her sitting by herself, her back to him but he knows it's her because he recognizes his toque on her head.

“Hey,” he says barely above a whisper and Lea jumps before she registers that it's him.

Her face instantly breaks into a beautiful smile that she saves just for him and he thinks to himself that her smiles are ten times brighter than the hundreds of flashing billboards surrounding them. He walks up to where she's sitting on the red stairs and give her a quick peck on the cheek before taking a seat behind her on the same step and pulling her between his legs. She instinctively relaxes back into him and sighs. They sit like that for a long time, neither of them talking, just watching people passing them by and Cory thinks that even though they're surrounded by tourists and blinding lights, he'd never felt more content and peaceful than right now.

She's rubbing circles with her thumb into his knee and smiles when she feels her hair brushed away and being replaced by his lips on her neck. She closes her eyes to the sensation and hums a soft tune to herself. He kisses down her neck and tugs her sweatshirt down over her one shoulder to leave a playful kiss and a bite there. His arms slip around her waist, pulling her closer to him and she can feel him beginning to harden. She gently arches her back and shifts her position slightly so her bum brushes against his crotch. He sucks in a breath then slowly lets it out, and moves one of his hands up to cup her breast under her sweater. She's not wearing a bra and it turns him on even more. He rolls her nipple between his thumb and index finger and knows he's got her when her head falls back to rest on his shoulder and her eyes are shut. He kisses down her jawline before returning to her lips and she's turning in his embrace to get a better angle. Her tongue is hot and wet against his and he feels like he's going to explode both literally and figuratively if he doesn't have her right now.

Lea has always been able to read him like an open book and suddenly she's breaking the kiss and pulling him to his feet and tugging him down the stairs and back towards the hotel a wicked gleam in her eyes. He grins and puts an arm around her shoulders as they half walk and half run back.

“I'm glad you came to meet me, by the way,” she says as they walk in step.

“Of course I would,” he replies. “It's our Times Square tradition.”

She smiles at that because it's been a long time since she's had a 'tradition' with anyone and feels so happy to have made one with him. They finally make it to their hotel and are greeted by a knowing look from the concierge who pretends not to notice that they they let go of each other the moment they step foot into the lobby, trying to be covert.

They barely make it past the elevators and by the time they stumble into Lea's hotel room, Cory's jeans are already unbuttoned and her sweater is somewhere on the floor by the TV. The rest of their clothes are haphazardly tossed behind them and they fall onto the bed together, moving frantically until she hitches one of her legs over his hip and finally he's inside her. They move together, setting a steady pace that makes her toes curl and she can't help the soft moans that escape her throat with every thrust. She arches into him and leaves a trail of open mouthed kisses down her neck and between her breasts. He breathes her in and she twists her hips in that way he's always liked and he's close. So, so close.

He wants to slow things down a little until she catches up to him so he pulls out and flips her over so she's facing away from him. He grabs her hips and pulls her back up and enters her again groaning as she leans back onto him. His warm hands spread her legs wider so he can get a better angle and he reaches around with his right hand and finds her clit. He presses tiny circles into her with his fingers and suddenly she's jumped ahead of him almost careening over the edge. He removes his hand and continues to move behind her, each thrust bringing him close and closer. He can barely focus anymore and his body takes over for him as his mind goes blank. Lea is making soft whimpering noises and he has enough strength to lean forward pushing himself even deeper, his thumb stroking her clit a final time before he feels her tighten around him and the spasms wrack both their bodies and they come together.

Long moments pass before they can talk again, let alone move. He's soft but still inside her as he spoons her from behind and she doesn't move. Her heart is still pounding and his hot breath hits the back of her neck in soft puffs. Finally she moves away from him and turns on her back to face him. His eyes are closes, but a small smile graces his lips. She kisses him delicately and buries her face in the crook of his neck.

“Best tradition ever,” Lea whispers.

She feels the laughter bubbling up in his chest before she even hears his soft chuckles. He kisses her forehead and pulls the sheet over them, tucking it under her chin before slinging his arm over her waist
