I know this isn't the Oppression Olympics or anyhting, but Euro Spanish =/= North American Latino by a longshot.

omg why am i being so snarky, this is kinda making me rage a bit.
especially when one of the biggest vocal issues in North & South American media is how indigenous people always get beat out of roles by their more Euro-decent actors and actresses.

Sorry, I grew up in a Mexican/Salvadorian barrio in Houston, this was always a sorespot with my girl friends.

LMAO! Don't apologize! You weren't the only one who thought that. I had to turn my head at an angle so I could read the article via my side-eye. Perhaps I'm a bit cynical, but I was like... why is she waving this Latina flag now? Oh, she's promoting her next project. *sucks teeth*

However, I'm glad that she has made such a valiant effort to take back her Spanish and cobble together some kind of cultural consciousness. It seems like her heart is in the right place.

*facepalm* That's cuz she IS white. No north american latino would argue that. lol. Charisma darlin, Spanish are from Spain in Europe. North & central Americans speak Spanish because the spanish conquered the countries in central/southern America.

I feel that she needs to be saying "yay for the spanish language" rather than trying to be all viva la raza.
I live in France at the moment. The Spanish are white as hell. lol.

as I recall, Charisma has pretty much been about saying she was latina since at least being on Angel. Jessica Alba i'm less familiar with.
