So... is anyone surprised that Cherokee actor Wes Studi has been cast in (one or another of the movies called) Avatar as a blue alien?

Isn't that James Cameron's Avatar (different movie than Shyamalan's Avatar)? Not that this isn't still a case of the whole we can't deal with people of color unless they're dressed up as aliens who'll probably be a metaphor for some kind race relations that people don't want to deal with directly.

I had a double-take myself, mostly because I was wracking my brain and couldn't think of a single ten foot tall blue alien in Avatar: The Last Airbender.

On the other hand, James Cameron's Avatar is still going to be very eye-rolly, I think. I'm...trying to focus on Zoe Saldana being in it.
