Another example of how white folks can't imagine POC outside of their own definitions for us.Basically, I just wanted a setting where you could have a bunch of POC with a wide range of skin tones. Heck yeah.

And there often has to be enough stereotypes and/or historical context (or right kind of historical context) to ground the PoC group you've come up with or else it just won't fly with many readers or players. It's like people have no problem or need to question the history behind the white folk that populate the Star Wars universe. But if you did the same with pretty much any PoC group then they'd want to know how it came about and expect to see ['strong'] cultural signifiers and/or motifs among them to ease their confused minds.

So simply said. PoC fantasy cultures can't simply exist, they must be a dissertation.
