I can feel the roughness in my hand; like any skill, drawing requires practice.
When I first came back from a drawing hiatus of roughly eight years, it was such a rough road. You just have to keep at it until the muscle memory comes back, but it sounds like you have the exact right attitude about preciousness. I eagerly await following your journey on the path to glory ;)
