This is absolutely fantastic! It's so well written and I love how original the plot is. The case was really interesting and well explored and I really liked the twist with Alec. I love the way you've written Sam and Dean.
This is definitely gettigng bookmarked to read again. Thanks for an awesome read :D
Aww, thank you! Getting bookmarked to read again is a huge compliment. As is, of course, each of the other things you said. I'm glad to hear that the case worked so well for you, and that you enjoyed the way I've written Sam and Dean. :D
It's a pretty cool icon :) I really just want to tell you again how much I enjoyed reading this - it was easily one of the best Big Bangs so far for me.
Awwww! Well then, I thank you again for all the lovin'. After all the effort and thought and occasional teeth-pulling involved in writing it, it's wonderful to hear that it's having an effect on readers. :D
That was incredible! The sense of perfect unreality about Alecto's diner and inn, providing exactly what the two of them needed. Dean learning to make pies from Frau Pie Mistress. Sam trying desperately to look after Dean. Dean pushing him away, just trying to keep afloat on top of the river of wrong in him so that he can function. Nightmares, panic attacks, physical symptoms as his body expresses what he can't. Only feeling alive when he's in pain. And when Dean understood that Alecto was saving these people, that moment when he wanted it.
What a marvelous ending, too, with the puppy and the homestead and that QUOTE, moving the very title of the story from fear and pain to a survivor's joy. Thank you!
That was an amazing comment - thank you so much. You clearly experienced everything I was hoping to convey, and I'm very grateful that you took the time to share that with me.
And I'm so glad that the ending worked for you, too, and the end quote moved you. As you said, it moved "the very title of the story from fear and pain to a survivor's joy", and that is exactly what I'd hoped, because ultimately, that was exactly what I was trying to do with Dean.
On that note: Since the time you read and commented on this, I added a note that the soundtrack is available in the 'Notes' section, so you might not have known that it existed. I mention this because of the title and quote, which come from a song on the soundtrack that is one of my all time favourite songs and is pretty much the theme song to this whole fic. Anyway, if you're interested, it's here, and the cover made by my awesome artist, getyourguns, is here:
Awww great fic. I usually don't read wincest, but today I was in need of fragile!dean and protective!sam and that's exactly what I got with your fic. The ending was also perfect ! I'm glad I read it ;o)
Aw, thank you. That you don't usually read Wincest but gave mine a shot anyway is awesome. I'm glad that I could satisfy your fragile!Dean and protective!Sam needs (I have a strong need for those, myself). :)
Thank you so much, darling! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the read, and that you were able to experience all the happy in the midst of the turmoil. There's a lot of darkness in this fic, but I always thought of it as a happy story, so yays! ♥
So lovely and sad and romantic. The end made me tear up and smile so hard it hurts. The panick attacks about the dogs were a great touch. Aswell as all the awesome food that made my stomache rumble. I'm really craving some good tomato soup now.
Thank you for the kind comment. That the ending made you tear up and smile so hard it hurt is a huge compliment, so thank you for letting me know it had that effect. :D
As for the food... I may have originally planned to include recipes, posting them to my food journal and linking them in the notes, but ran out of time... Shhh! I'd still like to, though, so if I do, I'll let you know. And I'll do the tomato soup first!
