Writing is hard, I say. I don't get how some people are all typey-typey. Yes, you, you and your typey-typey. Now, I get that it wasn't always this easy, but when does it kick in? How long do you have to tackle the writing process like a linebacker before you can just do it? Not do it well, necessarily, but do it at all. I want to be able to sit

It's one thing to churn out words, and I really miss those 60-minute-fic challenges. But getting a sane, finished product in a short time-limit? I don't know how people do that, especially consistently. :0

I know it's better when you have a community for encouragement, but if you wanted to do it on your own, I would definitely recommend The Box. You could set it for 60 minutes and just go for it. :)

Um, that's how I feel about you. I mean, you might not be writing fics in 15 minutes, but you write wonderful stories in very short periods. At least I assume you do, since you post so many so often!

Okay, so, you should know, I didn't make the deadline. :'( I will post about it soon, but I just wanted to let you know right away.
On the bright side, though, I do have 11,000 words, and I do plan to finish it within the week. I wish the Big Bang people were more flexible. *sigh*

You will find the 'letting it just come' thing comes easier the more practice you get with it. It's a kind of brain training, basically, and the typing tool will help you with that. It really is a case of practice with this.
Also, there's an element of thinking going on here where you're not sure quite how the typey-typey thing is going to work for you. I think you're concerned that something you produce quickly and without enormous suffering won't be 'good enough.'
Those concerns can be ameliorated with time as you realise that a) anything you don't like after sitting on it for a while can be fixed with a bit of re-writing and working with your beta, and 2) once you get good feedback for work produced in this way, you'll see that this method can work too.
You also need to stop living with regretting that you didn't do it previously and just look forward. You were ill and had other things that got in the way. But you need to give yourself props for not giving up on it.

I've already begun to notice this, and I hope that I can continue, because I believe now that it can get easier.

I believe you have a point there. D'oh! But I'm a-workin' on it.

Thank you, darling. I actually am doing just that. And oddly, I don't feel awful today. Score!
Thank you for all your encouragement and support, baby. Clearly, I wouldn't have gotten this far without you; your help has it vital to my progress, with this project and so many others. *smishes & fluffles*
P.S. Perfect icon!
