How awful. I'm sorry you had to go through that deal with the store. This is the sort of thing that gets my Righteous Indignation Panties in a massive twist. (Oh and have I got a pair!)

You might consider writing a letter to corporate HQ about your experience, indicating you are a frequent costumer and hinting you'd like to continue shopping there if you thought they would apologize (say in the form of a gift certificate) Who knows what could happen and sometimes just having your say to the ptb can help. You can write the letter on the Fic Death-o-meter!
