I'm going to try to do this - but then I would have to be tuned in and remember somehow. I'll come back and and look at the slideshow later to see how things look when the lights are turned out.....
I don't think many in my neighborhood did it either. We turned everything off except the TV in the bedroom. Rich loves the earth but will only indulge me just so far.....
I read an Assembly bill about this and I see two very glaring problems with the whole concept: 1. It's only 1 hour, which though it might save a very, very slight amount of energy is not going to really make a marked difference. 2. It's schedule to be on the last Saturday in March every year, meaning that it's already not a peak energy usage period. Additionally, as your other friend mentioned, if I hadn't read about it at work I most likely wouldn't have heard about it at all. I'm glad you heard about it and took part, but I doubt very many people did.
