Good idea taking your mum off the authority thingy for centrelink. I never quite understood why she was on it in the first place given that you don't want her nosing in on that stuff. *shrug* Um, just an observation so don't flip out or anything, but didn't you say a couple of posts ago that your epilepsy has changed? Doesn't that mean that you might have another fit? I hope to god you don't, but, especially if you have a gap between flat mates, maybe you should leave a spare key with someone close by just in case something happens. Though I guess if it's an emergency or whatever they could always kick the door in. Meh, you know I know crap all about epilepsy stuff, I'm just thinking out loud here. Don't mind me. Anywho, we'll take your mind off it tonight. Bring your bathers.
my two cents etc whateverelaranJanuary 1 2009, 13:14:50 UTC
I think you should leave the key with your parents - they're the only ones who know the full extent of and how to deal with your epilepsy - none of your friends do no matter how much easier you get along with them and how much you want your parents to barge in less etc. Also I think I would trust your parents more than any of your friends - not throwing stones etc given that I'm one of them - just saying.
Well, if it doesn't work out dealing with Centrelink yourself you can always add your mother back onto it. Have you told your mum that you intend to take her off it? Because telling her that may show her how much you want her to let you deal with it yourself even if it is to your own detriment afterward. Dunno.
But I really really really think you should leave the spare key with your parents. Because in a toss up between you being pissed off at your lack of privacy and whether you live or not & have proper medical care should, heaven forbid, you have another epilepsy attack, I would really fucking hope that you would choose the

Also the reason that your mother gave you a card with something like that is because she probably thought that you felt you were unloved or were losing your mothers affection because of how badly you two seem to be getting along and she meant the card in a reassuring, I STILL LOVE YOU NOT MATTER HOW MUCH WE ARGUE, HOW MUCH WE PISS EACH OTHER OFF way etc.
TAKE IT POSITIVELY. I know it's hard and it looks like evrything just fucking sucks. Again, I am so much better at doling out advice than taking it. =/ But just saying.
