Do you personally count your birthdays here in Luceti towards your age?

[Simply and casually, as if today isn't his birthday. Which he somewhat neglected to mention to people he knows. Some people may pick up on that fact from the question.

It's mostly because Kouki thinking on how Luceti usually treat 'time', when he notice the date. Which lead him ( Read more... )

Time still passes here even if it doesn't back home, right? I don't see why birthdays in Luceti shouldn't count as well. [A thoughtful pause.] Though it might be a little more confusing for those who are used to a different calender system...

The calendar's here what I'm used to, though it used the Western names for the months. [Why can't you guys stick to numbers.] Does your world use a different system?

That must be convenient for you. The calenders back on Auldrant are much different compared to how they are here, but not just because of the names. We have 13 months instead of 12, and every month is twice as long.

[A soft laugh.] I'm still getting used to how short the seasons are in comparison.

Wow, to me, the your seasons sounds like they're around twice as long. [Would that mean summer holiday is twice as long?] Give or take. But that's something you're used to.

[ Her birthday? Well, it's been 4000 years since she last celebrated her birthday. While she believes birthdays should be celebrated, but it seems rather useless to do so now since she's a tad embarrassed about her old age. ]

For anyone else, I would count their birthdays. However, I'd rather not with mine.

[While he's still young, Kouki would probably deal with that issue in the future. Assuming he's still alive.]

Really? You're much older than you look?

[ Her smile turned stone hard at the question. It was an innocent question and she's not going to get angry at him for that. But still it was a pretty sensitive subject. ]

Ah, yes. I'm . . . a lot older than I appear.

[ Wait, do the birthdays during the time she was dead even count? If so then that changes everything. ]

[Yeah, not going to ask for her age.]

You have your reasons for not keeping track?

[Well, he's perplexed. Even here, a birthday should still be a birthday.]

There's no reason not to count them, right?

That's true. But I like to hear what people thinks.

Ah, I guess it's nice to share things like that. [It brings people together!!]

Technically, wouldn't something like this depend a little on everyone's worlds? I mean, there might be people here who measure years differently, or don't have birthdays to begin with.

Yeah. I heard of a calendar system that's longer than Earth's, so I'm wondering how they handle birthdays here.

Considering the fact that time continues to move here, I personally say yes.

[ ... ] Why are you so curious about it all of a sudden?

Nothing, really. Just been thinking about it.

Well something had to have occurred for that thought to form. [Can't fool her Kouki] Is it someone's birthday?

...Yes, it's someone's birthday.

Sort of? Time here feels a little weird, to be honest.

And wouldn't having your bones suddenly shrink on you hurt? [Hopefully not missing the point.]

Sometimes, it feels like it go by fairly fast. Other times, it's slow.

Since Luceti like messing with time, maybe we're immuned to the pain?

You think the Malnosso's behind that, too?

I guess that makes sense. Can't feel what isn't exactly there, right?

That or shifts.

Right. If we return, we can't feel what's technically never happened.
