HERE Kouki Wakahisa believed himself to be a normal guy, growing up in a normal family and with his cousin, Naoya, who lost his parents at a young age. He goes to school with his friends, Yuzu Tanikawa, a childhood friend, and Atsuro Kihara, a computer nerd who knows and met Naoya on the Internet. He lived his life, carefree and with typical worries, like schoolwork.
Until the Tokyo Lockdown happened, locking in everyone in Tokyo without the luxuries of electricity, Internet, mobile phone signals and even running water. People became desperate, fighting madly for the dropped rations and taking whatever supplies they could, while demons, summoned from COMPs, run amok in the enclosed area.
Commissioned by the Shomonkai, a religious group that believes the Internet is the current era's Tower of Babel, Naoya made the COMPs, communication devices that allows a person to use magic and summon demons easily without the hassle of a traditional ritual. With increasing numbers of COMPs appearing in Tokyo and fell into more human hands, the demons grew in numbers and the Lockdown become even more dangerous. Then, they found out that angels from Heaven are responsible for ordering the Lockdown, in order to contained the demons and test mankind in an Ordeal. Failure to pass will strip mankind of their free will.
Kouki would eventually find himself drawn into a conflict between demons, the War of Bel, where powerful demons with 'bel' in their name engaged for the position and right as the King of Bel. Ruler of all demons and have the power to challenge God. Kouki is the only human qualify to compete in the war, after killing Beldr with the mistletoe phone-strap. Unknown to him, Kouki is actually a 'bel' as well: Abel from biblical times and the first murder victim. Unlike him, Naoya, who is the reincarnation of Cain and retains his memories, knows and confused Kouki, who wonders why his cousin refers to them both as brothers.
It's the end of Day 6 and Kouki find himself approached by people he knows and hear their proposed plans for Day 7. Become the King of Bel and wage war on God. Become the Messiah under His rule. Control the demons for humans. Send the demons back home. Or run away from the Lockdown.
Kouki must choose one of them to go with, or risk having everyone in Tokyo literally microwaved to death, in an futile attempt to stop the demons and COMPs. This choice will affect the lives of everyone, and possibly the entire world, and he's considering which one is the best solution.
After talking with each person about their plans, Kouki is thinking about which plan to go with...when he found himself somewhere else entirely.
Personality: (As a silent protagonist with a blank slate, Kouki's personality are derived and expanded on from some of the dialogue choices, which implies the kind of person he is.)
At a glance, Kouki seems to be a nice, friendly and polite guy, albeit with a small tendency to be rather blunt, remembering his manners the majority of the time when dealing with strangers, adults and people he respects. It is with his friends that he opens up, showing he's loves hanging out, joking around and being rather blunt, more obvious than with strangers. When talking about things he's interested in, Kouki may find himself acting excited about it like a child.
However, in the stressing and chaotic time of the Lockdown, his will, his mental strength, is one of his stronger traits. In spite of the demons, the deaths and seeing what other people can do with a COMP in their hands, Kouki doesn't let it bring him down and tried to not make his friends, especially Yuzu, worry even more.
Further more, is his choices when dealing with other people, particularly demon tamers. He chose to, instead of killing them, destroy their COMPs, despite even more of them being distributed within the Lockdown. Kouki believes people can change for the better, hoping they can understand why with the chance they've given.
[DIALOGUE CHOICES]
(As requested)
The majority of Kouki's choices are generally thoughtful, perceptive and brave, instead of being ignorant, uncertain or outwardly fearful.
"It's a sign of more danger."
"It's bound to happen."
He's aware that some people will abuse the COMPs, if they had gotten their hands on some. The earliest examples of this was punks and yakuza men attacking them for their COMPs, in order to do as they please. Later on, even some policemen become corrupted when they got a COMP.
"Let's do what we can."
Fairly often, Kouki would say variations of this line instead of the other, more uncertain and fearful option. He knows that he need to stay strong, in spite of his own fears, and believes they can do what they can to survive in the Lockdown. It won't help at all to show his fear, it'll just add onto Yuzu's anxiety, who is visibly and most stressed out from the Lockdown of their group. Boosting morale is important in order to keep on going and Kouki will say the words needed to be said to keep it up.
"Tell me more."
Kouki is open-minded enough to hear out people, listening to what they say in regards to the Lockdown, themselves or what they think they should do. People he talked to slowly opened up to him, which eventually lead to telling him about their proposed plans, opening up the various 'paths' the game can end in. Even Kaido, a tough-looking gang leader, shared his plans to join forces and run for world domination in the late-game.
"We'll beat him."
"We'll find a way."
Even with the Death Clocks, numbers that showed how many days they can live, counting down and reached '0' several times, Kouki would say they should "do what we can" and try to find a way to changed their fate. Not everything is destined to happen and he believes it's possible to change it, if you just seek out and make it happen with your own hands.
Strengths: (NOTE: MC's stat distribution is up to the player's choice. It's assumed that Kouki went for a generally more magic-focused build.)
Physical: As strong as a typical seventeen year old teenager can be. Can use magic fairly well, but requires a COMP for it. Fighting against demons and other people builds up his endurance and force him to be very quick on his feet.
Mental: Perceptive and can connect the dots based on the information he knows and what he can gleans from it. As the de facto leader of his group, he can quickly think up battle strategies, depending on the skills, resources at hand and the enemies.
Emotional: Generally quite brave and strong, in spite of the horrors he had seen and experienced in the Lockdown. Willing to listen and understand, whether he agrees with other people or not.
Weaknesses:
Physical: His physical strength is rather typical for a teenage boy, and while his endurance is higher from the Lockdown, Kouki can be knocked out from a couple of sufficiently strong enough hits.
Mental: Not the smartest of them all, despite knowing some information which he, most likely, knows as trivia, generally leaving the more heavier brain work for Atsuro on more than one occasion.
Emotional: Kouki hide his fears and worries behind his strong, calm front, as to not cause worries for everyone around him, since it wouldn't help in getting through their situation alive. While he would listen to other people, he won't immediately spill out his worries, requiring much prodding, trust and very close bonds to open him up for it. Meaning he would put other people's wellbeing before himself.

First Person:
O-ow...that experiment was very taxing. Now I'm sore...
I hope everyone's doing and feeling better than me.
Where is that journal thing? [Rustling sounds.] ...There is it. Now to see how everyone's doing...
Good morning, is everyone okay? That experiment was quite rough on us all, huh? Yuzu, you're doing fine, right? I'll come over and see you.
Also, I'm doing okay, really, so don't worry.
Third Person:
The first thing he noticed was the change in environment, as Kouki stood up onto his feet and looked around. There's far more plantlife here compared to the park, especially since it looked to be a forest. No, it was a forest. How in the world did he move from the government ordered lockdown to somewhere else in a forest? Alone, too, without Atsuro, Yuzu, Midori and Keisuke anywhere in plain sight.
It's also daytime, adding towards his worries and growing yet hidden panic. This means it's the last and seventh day, when everyone inside the Yamanote Line will die if he hasn't decided on which plan to follow and lift the Lockdown.
The fact that his clothes were missing, along with his headphones and COMP, leaving Kouki to find himself wearing only a pair of white pants, which doesn't really help with the current situation. He's defenceless and exposed, without his friends around.
While looking around, Kouki blinked when he noticed his new addition. A pair of small blue wings, most likely not strong enough to support him in flight. They reminded him of the angels, the ones behind the Lockdown.
He would normally stop and examine his new wings carefully, if the pressing time limit wasn't on his mind. He needs to make his decision, find his way back to Tokyo, somehow, and reunite with everyone else.
Become the King of Bel and wage war. Become the Messiah. Control the demons. Send the demons back to their world. Or, the suggestion he liked the least, despite it coming from Yuzu, all tired and worn out from the Lockdown, to run away from the Lockdown.
Which ever path he choose to walk down, Kouki hoped it would be the best possible solution in both short and long term.
'I must find the others and makes sure we can get through this together...'
