Your words paint so much more than they say... lovely piece. And I love it when metaphors run amok

Thanks ~ I'm glad you liked it. And the runaway metaphore, lol.

Sometimes runaway metaphors can be a pain to read, especially if they jump from one theme to another randomly; in fact, I'd get annoyed and go read something else. In this, though, you stuck to the book/reader/writer theme, and it works really nicely.

Thank you, I was a little worried that it didn't work in the way I intended. Especially glad you didn't get annoyed and read something else :)

I think there is a fine line between being trite and lacking substance and being overly laborious and tedious with metaphor pieces like this. That fine line is when a you strike the right balance to make it interesting and engaging.

I thought you teetered close to falling off that line with the comment about hands like merciless book covers. It jarred for me because I couldn't see book covers as merciless, but the fic quickly recovered and finished well.

I do love the imagery of Kakashi opening and closing like a book. I can really connect with Ikura getting to a point in the book where he just wants to stop reading because what is happening, but can't put the book down because he is too invested in the story.

Thanks for this wonderful little story. It brought a smile to my day.

I actually really like stories like this so I'm just sad it's not longer. I'm a huge fan of runaways! :D
