On the last TV pilot I worked on, the producers had another project ordered to series. I gave everyone connected a copy of my resume and a spec script. Everyone seemed very friendly and receptive. Sometimes when you get those kinds of bills it's because the {dentist, doctor, whatever}'s office hasn't filled out their insurance paperwork correctly. I hope this is the case for you.

And sometimes they bill you anyway, to justify the amount they charged to the insurance. In these cases you're not expected to pay. I'd call and make sure first though.
