He frowns thoughtfully, looking between the wall, and the tools before finally speaking softly. "I... don't think I can wield a sledge hammer without hurting myself... but I can carry rubble away? Is that all right?" He's skinnier than he's any right to be, though he has gained weight since he's gotten to the Hub, not nearly enough, and barely any muscle.
"I got no shortage of people strong enough to wield sledge hammers." He looks Tim over. he's going to have to make sure they're prepared to feed everyone. "You steady enough to paint walls. Most of us can't take the fumes even with the respirators."
"I can paint just fine." He nods, doing his best not to fidget for the look over. "I've never had trouble with paint fumes, I can pain anything you need me to."
Ah. [Tana remembers "little feet" running around. Her niece and nephew, Iolane and Kekane (who they called Li'i to differentiate from his father), who she's not allowed to see anymore since she came back as a Vessel. Her smile is a little sad.]
"You wanna take a swing? I'm sure there's a pair of gloves here that will fit you." Jason's got a big box of gloves and masks, all the safety equipment they could need, and then some.
[Tamas looks shaky and pale.] I don't... I don't know if I can be here for this. I just... [He shivers and flinches.] The house changing around me feels wrong. Do you mind if I go to the park for a little while? I'm sorry. I wanted to help but...
"It's alright, baby. This is why I'm telling you everything. I don't know how it works with you and the house I just want you to be okay." He rubs Tamas, shoulders and pulls him into a hug. "You can stay with the elf as long as you need. I'll tey and get the walls out and the doors in as fast as we can so it's not an open wound here."
Thank you. [He leans into the hug, breathing in Jason's protective warmth.] I'm sorry. I really wanted to be able to help but...
I'll be okay once its done. I'll just need to...[He searches for the right word,] reset my perception of where the borders of the house are when it's done. Feeling it change is too hard.
[He pushes up on tiptoes to kiss Jason.] I love you. I always will.
"We have lots of help, and once the houses are together there will be more to do, furniture decorating." He hugs Tamas tightly, and to be honest he's really just trying to cover him in his scent just a little more, not that he could make Tamas semell more like his than he already does. "Why don't you take Melanie with you. Connor wants to help so much I don't want to send him away, but Melanie..."
[Jason has the whole area of the lead painted sills fenced off and covered in drop-sheets in no time, making sure he's covered head to toe.] Ready when you are.
Jason checks that the shop vacum he got for this is in working order and goes down his safety checklist one more time. He's suited up as well in the coveralls, mask and goggles hanging around his neck. "This shouldn't be too bad. I don't think we'll get that much dust. You got the bags for the trim pieces?"
[Jason nods to the small pile of bags in the corner, ready to double bag any scraps and bits as they go.] Your people know to stay clear while we do this?
"The kids are out, And Dick and your Tim are working on the windowless rooms and then following us after they're done. We should be able to work faster than they can paint, so I'll doubt they'll get beyond this room before we're done."

For what purpose?

"Put the two houses together. Make room for the kids." He has to grin at that. "There's a lot of little feet running around here."
