That's different. Damian's a special case.

And here I thought I was, with everyone angsting over mine.

[Terrible case/memorial case wordplay, go! He's not really close by Sentinel, but well within earshot.]

[Tim tenses out of habit.]

You're a different kind of 'special', Jason.

[After all, it takes a rare individual to warrant Arkham.]

[amused,] Ah, but you admit that I am.

So, great sinless arbiter of specialness, how is Damian al Ghul-Wayne special, in your infallible opinion?

He's the first one who it wasn't an abysmally stupid decision to make Robin.

Because an emotionally crippled ten-year-old trained to be an assassin is just such a wise choice.

Treating him like a normal kid is even less wise. He can't just unlearn everything he learned from Talia.

Either option without the other isn't going to end well. You can't treat him entirely like a child soldier, and you can't expect him to be a completely normal kid.

Bruce isn't exactly a good choice... when it comes to mentors. He knows what worked for Dick, and himself, and I think maybe he expects it to work for all of us.

I never said we were just going to use him as a drone and be done with it. But I think he needs the outlet of being Robin, and he's better equipped to handle it than you or I.

No one has any intention of letting him become any more of a miniature Bruce than he already is, believe me. None of us would be able to stand it.

I don't think I particularly needed the outlet of Robin. So there's that.

Good. Don't let him isolate himself in Gotham City, either. Stick him on the Titans, it'll be for his own good, and everyone else's eventually.

Eventually. Provided the other Titans don't give in the urge to drown him.

[snort] Too bad he can't hang out with the team that put up with Danny Chase. He'd be safe then.

Maybe, maybe not. I swear he goes out of his way to provoke people.

Take it from a problem child -- any attention is better than no attention.

True.

I consider him Dick's problem, to be honest.
