The trip to the new and improved Sickbay (and what happened afterwards) had improved Bones' mood dramatically from earlier that day. But the problem remained, hadn't gone away

He told Jim that he'd take care of it tonight, so padding over to the computer terminal late that night, Bones sent a few belated messages.

Don't worry, I didn't get you in any trouble. If he's your friend, and from the way he bitched me out he sure is, I'm sure he knows by now how you like to stick your head in the sand when things get rough.

Your way is to avoid it until it's so big that it overwhelms you and you run off and start over. Some of us have to stay behind and take care of the people you leave here.

Of course, Doctor. The captain informed me of the missing supplies today, and I searched the ship's stores again at his request. Nothing turned up, but I made some inquiries this afternoon, and it looks like we should be able to get everything replaced in time.

I've taken the liberty of filling in a new requisition form for the missing items based on the original request. The file is attached - if you have any changes or special instructions you'd like to add, please do. As soon as you've signed off I'll get it sent through, and I'll notify you as soon as the replacements arrive.

Thanks - appreciate the speed. Not like the supplies are extraordinarily valuable, but I don't know when we'll be near a station like this again to get properly set-up. But I guess you know that, what with your new job.

I appreciate the notification when they arrive. I'd like to look at them before they're unloaded in Sickbay.

That's not a problem at all. I hope to receive them by tomorrow, so we have a little time to check things out, make sure everything's in order.

Thanks. It's not the way I'd have chosen to get this assignment, but I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not in trouble. She's heard about the new people on board, and put two and two together to figure out 'doctor's displaced daughter from future alternate reality' was you.

I'm not gonna set it up, though, if you're going in with that chip on your shoulder. What happened between us was between us and no one else. She's not your mother, but she's my daughter's mother, and I'm not gonna let you abuse her for something that wasn't her fault.

There's some reporters back home, been poking around the old place. Apparently y'all coming back from the dead has been making the news.

Oh baby, I doubt anyone would want to bother us other than how'd we managed to do it. Or sons of bitches concerned former colleagues from our respective fields.

It isn't 'you' the person they care about, Momma... its the idea that you two have come back from the dead.

Now, your grave, back home - it's just a marker, on account you were killed up in space. But Daddy- His body is down there. And up here.

Can you see where some might be interested in tinkering around with his remains? I've contacted the authorities, and Starfleet is supposed to go and make noises around there, let people know that messing around is a one way ticket to trouble.

And don't discount people wanting to know how you did it. People would stop at nothing for that kind of information.

Anyway, didn't want to bother you. Just let me know if you hear anything, or if anyone untoward tries to contact you.
