John hitched his bag up his back, striding down the halls in the direction of the transporter bay. He'd had to quiz the computer in his quarters as to its location, but now that he knew he quickly made his way through the ship.
John had brought everything with him, leery of leaving vital materials behind on what was potentially a dangerous mission to the surface. He was not going to be stranded on a planet without water.

Finally he made it to the bay, stepping into the room and nodding at Bones.
His face had a tight smile, and despite the casual way he was addressing John, it definitely looked as if something was wrong. "Thanks for comin' with me this afternoon. I know, its all safe down there, but I didn't want to wander around alone."
"Yeah," Bones nodded. They approached the transporter pads and prepared to be beamed to the village below.
Bones looked down, grabbed the bottom of his shirt in his fist, and closed his eyes. "Give me a minute, then tell her that we can go, alright?" he said quietly.
