Sitting in his office, Bones looked down at the psychiatric journal he was reading. He'd been looking at it so long his eyes began crossing, the words swimming across his face. Yeah, he was certified in Space Psychology, anyone who planned on being a Chief Medical Officer had to - but it wasn't where his passion lay, and lately he'd been wondering ( Read more... )

He is having increasingly more difficult reoccurring memories, strong enough to be felt through the bond. I have not had so many headaches in some time. His reactions seem to be differing depending on the memory.

Are the re-emerging memories leaving any residual injuries or pain to him, or does the pain appear to be localized to the moment it comes back?

Perhaps I should include in my questioning - how are you>/I> progressing, Captain? Do you require any pain medication?

Localized. I am fine, and do not take medication for such things. I will continue to watch Spock's progress.

Let me know if anything changes... I'd prefer to err on the side of caution in his case.

If you change your mind, let me know as well. I think I've got something that would help you yet not disturb the bond you have between you and your partner.

I'll be there will bells on. Only not literally. What're we doing for Christmas? Are we doing anything Christmas-wise?

The lack of bells would be appreciated. Really.

And... You should talk to Jim's dad or your grandma about Christmas. Don't plan on seeing too much of Jim or me around that time.

I figured they would be.

Mmmmmm. Then I'll sign on for a turn at the science station, free up shifts for folks who're celebrating.

You should have some fun if you want, sweetheart. Go hang out with your grandmother, it would make her happy.

I've talked to her, and she's amenable to the meeting. I'm free whenever you are--you doing anything after your shift?

Looks like I'm meeting up with you and your guest. Where can I find you?

You'd better come to our room--she's pretty busy, multi-tasking as she is, so I don't want to distract her more than necessary.

Dr. McCoy,

Good to hear from you. Hope everything is going well on that flagship of yours.

I've heard the stories. Hell of a thing. They're all true then, hm? Hell of a thing.

I've pulled some strings with Starfleet Medical, managed to find you someone. There's a supply ship headed your way - the USS Ballard. She'll be on board. I'm attaching her profile - great reputation. Focus is more on rehabilitating criminals than general therapy, but she's got the training. Should be fine.

Maddy's fine, fine. Says she's happy to bake for you anytime you drop by. Says I have to watch my cholesterol and pies are off the list. Probably right.

Good luck out there, Doctor. I know it's rough, but you'll get through. You need anything else, just say the word.
