After catching up after the Thanksgiving break, I found out more news on the New Frontier came out. Seems it's releasing a little earlier than the Spring '08 estimate (well, not that much), February 26th! And the best part, not only will it simultaneously be in HD, but there's a two-disc special edition that's only 5 bucks more! They will include ( Read more... )

Wow, great news on JLU episodes being included on the special edition. But c'mon you HAVE to admit b.t. probably only chose Dark Heart as one of his favorite episodes out of spite. Hopefully the idea that b.t. still thinks enough of JLU to include it on the New Frontier release means that he isn't quite done with the DCAU yet. I am actually looking forward to this release if only to see JLU again. :)

I was joking. Maxie Zeus gave Dark Heart a REALLY bad review which seemed to stick in b.t.'s craw since he really likes the episode.

b.t. admitted that his reasoning was that these three episodes have relevant ties to the story of New Frontier.

"To Another Shore" spotlights King Faraday, Wonder Woman and J'onn who have prominent roles in the DTV.

"Dark Heart" is similar in that a big group of heroes faces a mysterious alien threat and Ray Palmer comes to the forefront with a solution.

"Task Force X" is used since it spotlights the Suicide Squad who also appear in the DTV.

In interviews, he expressed interest in eventually revisiting his Timmverse but not for awhile.

That's awesome! I got the Absolute Edition about a year ago, Cooke's extensive notes are great, you'll love it. Can't say I love the idea of Miguel Ferrer as J'onn.

Wait...Marv Wolfman "Writer of Fantastic Four"? Uh...

I was wondering what that meant with Wolfram, the comics or that animated series I never watched?

He never wrote for any FF animated series, but he did write the comic for a bit. I find it weird that they mentioned that considering he's probably best known for his Teen Titans run and creating Blade.

I figured they'd lead with Teen Titans, since that's one of the next DTV's to be produced. It's all in the subliminal advertising, I guess.
