The person who made me want to play Snooker and Pool (even though I suck!!!) was the Pot Black master... Eddie Charleton :(

Exactly the same story for me. When I was a wee lad, my great-uncle and aunt had a snooker table, I used to love visiting them so I could play. ;-)

And a few years ago, purely by chance, I saw Eddie doing a little exhibition thing at Bar Ace on George St. .. I was just in there for a drink with a friend, and in he comes! Did some trickshots, and played a couple of games of pool against people (thrashing all comers, naturally). I was too shy to challenge. :-|

My grandmother is a great fan, she'll be sad to hear the news. Snooker, pool, darts, and to a lesser extent rugby, that's her idea of sport...
