Storytelling takes place before March 2009.It took him years of research and dead ends to find this place, but he's finally here. After Funky Flashman's death at the hands of Poison Ivy awhile back there's been a vacuum in the underworld collections market. To make himself stand out he needed something big, something with some history ( Read more... )

She wanted to fly. She can feel him just outside of herself and it's grating on her not to be free. He stirs again and she promises the both of them. Yes, I'm looking, but, damnit, Carter, why give me wings and no freedom?

She lands, folds in her wings, and gazes longingly the quiet beauty and has another of those far away memories of being somewhere she never was. She used to think deja vu was kinda cool. It's lost a lot of its charm when most of the world is somewhere you feel like you've been before.

Look Carter, It's Mia's birthday. I don't expect you to understand, but I need some time off from -

She stops and looks down. That can't be good.

The bodies are remarkably preserved; dare he say miraculously so. It appears both bodies were subject to a kind of natural mummification process before being laid here. "It's just as the legends say. Quick, quick! Bring the -"

The mountains start to rumble.

Don't ask her how she knows, but she knows this is bad. Those guys are bad, and something they just woke up is going to kill them unless she bails them out of their own stupidity, which is something she hates doing. She needs to know more about what's going on down there and dead people don't explain thing well. Mace in hand, she swoops down on the scene.

All of the rocks around the area rise, slow at first, just outside peripheral vision. The first lashes out at the person doing the digging, flying from its spot and aiming for the middle of his back. And then its a full assault, fist sized stones pelting the grave robbers one after another.

"That would involve being in two places at once, Mr. Sexy." Because she's in a bad mood and it's the truth. Why not share? "Plus, he's potentially right and it involves both Hawkman and potentially your wife." Her tone softens a few degrees. "You watch the professor. I drop these clowns off at the nearest park ranger, and then I come back and explain everything, okay?" then she adds something a Hawk has probably never said to an Arrow without sarcasm. "Please?"

Roy sighs. He's always had a hard time saying no to a pretty face. And Kendra's a pretty everything. Damnit, no. What Killswitch showed him was not them-- not him, or her, not this time or world.

"Fine," he says, grabbing the professor to escort him forward. "I've got a campsite less than a quarter mile up that left hill. C'mon, Indiana Jones..."

"I'll find you." After she settles thing here a little. I'll rebury you. It's going to be okay. That calms the rumbling she can feel tugging at her. she picks up the guys and flies off. By the time she gets back it's dark. He has a fire going and it's very obvious -

"You've been here awhile."

What, was that supposed to be his cue to explain himself? Roy motions at the pack cooler next to her. "There's food over there and in the pack if you're hungry."

It does occur to him he's being incredibly rude, to someone who, in actuality, has done nothing to him. Still, it's the matter that it had to be her, like the universe is still laughing at him. "Look, I came up here to get away from things for a while. I'm sorry I've taken it out on you, I'm-- I'm really in no shape to be doing anything like this right now. So, glad to have helped, but if you could get through making yourself comfy, and take your guy, and go do whatever you're gonna do, that'd be great."

There's no need. Roxy lives in the apartment next door and is already in Kathy's kitchen making coffee.

"Couldn't sleep either," she notes with a sad, nervous laugh. Her blue eyes sink to her untouched coffee. "Only normal, right? I mean, it's wasn't just a friendship. There was this whole span of years where we were one person."

"Yeah," she replies, moving to the coffee. "It... just wasn't fair, Roxy."

"My fiancee, your parents, Sonia, Sonia's parents, even Carter. Life just isn't." She thinks about it. Even Guy could be dead up there. God she hopes not. "Where's Kendra? I'm not hearing her shuffle around."

In the Philadelphia Titans' Tower, Troia continues to putter around the base. She's not quite showing yet, though she has gained weight and ordered more grilled food then she cares to admit. Wally dropped off his George Foreman grill and everyone has been so very nice.

She is so very bored.

Still, after the last pregnancy better safe then sorry. She's not going to be away from superhero support this time in case the next Lord Chaos choses to be born. Artemis, no. The com buzzes.

"Troia."

"Um, hi, Troia. I'm..." She doesn't have a hero name outside of former Batwoman and this is a giant liability right now. "With Stormcrow and Hawkgirl out of St. Roch and we need your help. Something about Hawkman. We think he's trying to come back."

Hawkman's scroll has been going a little crazy lately. He trusted her to know what to do with it and when. Maybe as an added bonus her pregnancy isolation and lack of husband has been making her more then a little stir crazy.

"I'm not to be out of sight of a superheroes due to a medical condition for now, but so long as I'm kept at a base, I'll be there with whatever else you need."
