Takes place 12/2008

A bitter chill comes over the city and it isn't just the snow falling and all the broken windows. Well-organized philathropists, most of whom are remaining anonymous have already offered to help rebuild the city. As horrible and shocking as the amazon attack has been, the new construction jobs might actually be doing some ( Read more... )

Files that were immediately picked up by ADA Tim Parker and he began to flip through them, pouring over the information within. There had to be something -- anything -- that would indicate what was really going on.

Because it really couldn't be what it looked like.

The crazy hit and he's not buying that the attack on Arsenal and his house, the charges against Troia, the Amazon attack, Robin's kidnapping, that blinding fast computer attack, or anything within the last 50 hours has been random or unconnected.

He looks at the stacks and then back to the Golden Goddess movie.

"The last time she sported that look she said -" He grunts in frustration. "It didn't really make sense. Nothing at the time did. It was that she'd given birth and a supervillain took her son. After which he'd threw her into the moon's atmosphere in order to suffocate her and -" He stops. "That was the last thing she said she remembered. After she showed back up she had a lot more powers. Her voice was different. She was more aggressive - like in that video." And she barely even heard me.

There's been a lot of strong emotions flying around since this whole ordeal began. It's hard for Lilith to forget what she felt in the Harper house, though.

"When we came close to the house, Donna did fly ahead," Omen says, knowing that could look suspicious, but she knew that Tim was trying to get to the bottom of this the same as them. "There was confusion from her, and dread, terrible but vague dread. There was also something else--"

She knows her word will only go so far here, but here goes nothing. "The emotion in the house lingers like a fog. I believe Arsenal recognized who attacked him, but I don't believe-- no, I know-- it was not Troia. There was no betrayal or anger from him, but strong disorientation. There is no psychic residue to support what happened."

He frowns. "Did someone just...clean it up?"

Meanwhile, under the City of Brotherly Love bonds of sisterhood appear frayed.

"I repeat -" She says, glaring at the Amazons keeping her captive, and resorting to her mother tongue. "I am Donna. Daughter of Hippolyta. Why have you brought me here, attacked my home, and now keep me from my battalion-family?"

"Family?" Artemis snorts contemptuously. "You call these .. these men 'family'?"

Artemis steps forward, bringing herself to within arm's reach of the sorry sight before her, never failing to condescend with her eyes for so much as a moment. "You're not a real amazon, sister. At least not anymore. You're too connected to Man's World. You've grown weak and corrupted, so we're here to do what has to be done."

So she heard.

"Then let me speak with the one who has clouded your mind. Who's madness compels you?"

Artemis has no interest in speaking with anything but her blade, so she sets about doing just that. She thrusts her blade towards Donna, not wasting a bit of time or energy on any unnecessary movements.
