This is way better than working security.

Owen waves to the crowd, grinning as he walks in, sporting a brand new Elite issued outfit, complete with a new leather jacket with plenty of holster straps for his boomerangs. The scarf stays though, despite some protests.

Standing nearby is a tall short-haired blonde woman in red circular glasses. Her trenchcoat is also in red, with black trim. All in all, she looks pretty striking.

Her arms appear to be made out of plastic, complete with small creases throughout, showing the arms were made out of pieces instead of solid plastic.

She waves to the reporters with a broad, honest grin on her face.

Next to her, Amanda Waller surveyed the pool of sharks that was the press gathered for this event. At least they didn't decide to have it outside.

Cliff still couldn't believe he'd let Waller talk him into this. He couldn't believe he'd let her talk him into leading this bunch of yahoos.

But most of all, he couldn't believe that he'd let someone talk him into wearing a leather jacket.

He couldn't grin, of course, but he did know how to work a crowd, from back in his race car days.

Vic was up early working on some maintenance issues when he saw the assmebled...including one in particular. "Hey, saladhead, check out the news. It's Steele."

Gar is still feeling a little zombified -- the caffeine from his coffee hadn't kicked in yet -- and he looks up from his bowl of oatmeal to look at the TV.

"Huh. What's he doing there? Turn it up!"

Vic turns it up a bit, and they both listen. "Team leader?"

Kal's watching the show at home, while getting dressed to go into the Planet. The presence of Waller is the first thing that doesn't thrill him.

Then he sees Vera Black. Alongside Cliff Steele.

And he ponders.

"I wonder who that is?" Lois questioned, as she put her earrings in. "Our favorite billionaire, or Perry?" She'd caught sight of what probably was one of Bruce's boys, if she had to guess. Muscular, black hair, that arrogant stance that screamed Bruce's kid. She picked up the phone. "Lois."

"Hi Lois, it's your favourite billionaire," smarmy git, "Does your husband have the TV on?"

Connor is feigning disinterest at the news as he splits attention between this and refereeing a two on two game at the Youth Center.

I wonder what they're up to with this...

Ollie snorted. Figured, the Bat would have one of his kids in something that dangerous and foolhardy.

"Well, Dad, what do you make of it? I'm guessing it's the DEO's attempt to try and throw its weight around and undercut the existing teams."

Trevor is literally holding his chair, laughing. In his free hand is his cell phone, and between gales of laughter, Trevor punches up Caleb's number.

"Dude... LNN. Just turn it on, man, I want to hear your reaction."

"Didn't she learn anything from Louis, at least she isn't DEO, I like her coat, and I wonder which of them her unnamed boy toy is," he responds humorlessly, and all too fast. Evidently, his television was already turned to the news.

"We need to talk to Sand about what she knows about us, both individually and as a team. There is potentially quite a bit of compromised information."

Almost as if on cue, Caleb's cellphone rings.

"Tell me you didn't know about this." Sand says on the other line. "Please."

"I only discovered myself just now."

"The last time she was on base, she cleansed her aura. That same day, we discovered - via the DEO calling Corrine - that Louis was dead. Do you suppose there is any connection?"
