The representatives from the Justice Society filed into the meeting room.  Some of them stayed in New York for cleanup and to assist the wounded.   No deaths were reported from the gas main explosion the General had caused, but there were several injuries.

Courtney shrugged, hanging near the back. She wasn't sure what had happened here, only that things had pretty much suddenly blown sky high. She cast a glance towards a few of the friends holding her staff with both hands horizontally behind her.

This was the type of thing you think they'd be ready for, really. Hopefully when it came down to it, they wouldn't treat her like a kid. But like a kid, she waited for someone else to answer.

Michael plants himself firmly in one of the available chairs. Elbows on table and hands clasped he relays, "As you already know, the General made a direct and solo assault on the Brownstone earlier today. He was after Danette Riley. The battle was brief but volatile. We've numbered around a dozen civilian casualties, and both Mid-nite and the Flash took minor injuries."

He sags closer to the table as he continues, "Aside from that, massive structural damage to the Brownstone and the streets outside, but we managed to keep the assault contained to the immediate area. Once it was clear we didn't know Danette's location, the General withdrew. His final word was Shazam."

His spiel finished, he leans back deeply in the chair, his arms folded.

"Well, the last time we saw him was the whole 10th age of magic throwdown." A beat. "Back when I was...dimension hopping."

"That's the last time we saw Captain Marvel," Jay corrects. "He's not the only one who uses that magic phrase."

It was the next to the last place Arthur wanted to go, but he had no choice. He had news he had to deliver, even if it meant going back there. He wasn't sure how he'd be welcomed and honestly he didn't care. He'd deliver his news and leave, going back into his self-imposed exile.

There was no putting this off. Arthur only wanted to be left alone and stay out of the affairs of the world, but destiny and fate had other ideas. Even he knew it was better to not reopen old wounds.

As the doors slid open, Superman is the first to see him. "Arthur!" He was about to smile and shake his hand when he saw the visage more grim than usual. "What happened?"

"Senator Perkins is dead."

From his seat, Jack scowls. "They're already a step ahead."

And then the alarm goes off.

Immediately, the communications monitors in the meeting room spring to life...with newscasts of several nations being shown, and CNN's broadcast center stage.

"...the appearance of what appears to be a massive mountain-like structure hovering *OVER* the nation of Kahndaq. This structure appeared five minutes ago, with satellite pictures giving this overhead view of the situation. Nearly immediately after this appeared, weather patterns throughout the Middle East SURROUNDING Kahndaq have wildly fluctuated in destructive ways, with massive destruction reported throughout the continent of Africa due to lightning, hurricanes and earthquakes. Kahndaq itself appears to be unaffected by the change in weather patterns, although the fact it appears to be directly beneath this construct might be the reason why.

Superman takes one look at the satellite picture and frowns. "Is that the Rock of Eternity?"

Mr. Terrific gets to his feet incredulously, "... Shazam. Adam can manipulate the Rock?"

Zatanna's eyes widened as she stared at the television screen. "How much power is he packing now?"
