Hippolyta's
meeting with Alan Scott and Carter Hall had been very eye-opening for her. She had learned a good many new things, some interesting, some surprising. Many times a mix of both.
One of the more interesting things that Hippolyta had learned, though, was that there were some Amazons who had made their home on an island called Avalon.

The look on her face screams impatience. She can't help but wear it, she's a teenager. It takes a while longer for the boat to dock than she would like and she keeps tapping her foot and looking around trying to keep herself occupied.
But even from the ferry her posture screams bored teenager trying to act professional but failing so hard.

Once docked, Hippolyta disembarks from the ferry and makes her way to the young woman, wondering, perhaps, if she's been sent to greet Hippolyta.
Most likely, she knows that this will not be the case, but there aren't very many people at the dock at this time, and the woman has a rather large bag of mail - and the post is always handled by those working for the government.
Not that Themyscira had much of a postal system.
"Excuse me," she says once she's within earshot of the woman. "I am Hippolyta of Themyscira. I have been told that many Amazons have made their home here, on Avalon. Would it be possible for you to show me where they have made their settlement?" Fact of the matter is, Hippolyta knows of Avalon only in the very vaguest, briefest of ways.

A Queen is here. Why wasn't she told? She could have made sure someone was here to meet her. Tula might have even wanted to do this herself. Leader to leader, as it were.
If this is Margret's fault she's leaving a seagull with some bread on her desk.
"Sure. I just need to have Billy sign for this." She turns and makes sure Billy signs the form and sticks it in one of the waterproofed pockets on her outfit. She can file this latter.
"There's not too many surfacers on Avalon itself but I can show you to where most of them are. You might want to speak with Constable Angeliki. She's become the sort of defacto leader of the Amazons here, they really respect her and tend to listen to her the most so she might be able to tell you what's going on with everyone whose here."
Erin knows whose who pretty well. She likes to listen and pay attention to everything. Sub-Diego hammered home the need to know everything she could about the power structure of wherever she made her home.
