As much as Terry wanted to just go home and sleep or to check in with his friends, there was work to do. Like catching a helicopter with a malfunctioning tail rotor before it crashes into busy city streets below.

That's where he is now. With a bubble of violet energy surrounding the falling craft, the first male Star Sapphire's trying his best to stop the fall. He's slowing it but he's probably going to need a hand stopping it completely. Thankfully today the ring was nice enough to not put him in something stripperiffic. He's just picked a violet and white version of what he saw Kyle wearing during the final battle of Blackest Night.

"Sounds about right," Terry sighs. "The whole thing started just as I was finishing up everything I needed to do before going to sleep," he shrugs.

She smiles at him gently. "And why haven't you slept yet? Too wired from last night still?"

"Wired, stuff like that," Terry gestures at the helicopter. "Don't really want to go back to whatever is left of my apartment yet..."

She nods in understanding. "I'm not sure where to go yet myself," she admits. "I might see if Superman can give me some help. But you..." She considers. "Was your apartment destroyed?"

"Superman should be able to help you. Haven't actually met him myself yet but I hear nothing but good about him even from other heroes," Terry remarks. "I'm not sure if it's destroyed or just wrecked. I took off before I could get cornered."

She shakes her head sadly.

"You worked hard to save the world, and your home might be ruined. No wonder you don't want to go home and see what happened."

Terry looks away, ring flaring a little.

"And because of...who attacked me there," he says softly. Sure, the ring is helping but there's still hurt in Terry.

She looks at him for a long moment, then takes a deep, sad, sympathetic sigh. She reaches out to gently touch his hand. "The Black Lanterns." She saw it. They took the forms of loved ones. It wasn't them, of course -- she'd been one of them, too, in theory.

"It doesn't really matter that it wasn't them, does it? The things they said... still hurt. Still cut deep."

Terry glances back up, not expecting the contact. "No, it doesn't matter," he sighs. "This all...is good for distracting from it."

She pulls him up to an isolated rooftop, so she can sit beside him.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Terry pauses and forms up a pair of comfortable chairs so they don't have to sit on the rooftop itself.

"Not...too much. It's just...David. My boyfriend...he's the one that came after me. So soon after he died..."

She leans next to him and gives him a sideways squeeze. "He tried to convince you that you didn't really love him, didn't he?"

"Among some other things," Terry replies, leaning into the little squeeze. "I'd probably be dead right now if not for this ring."

She just nods quietly. "Was he right?"

"About a couple things he said...yes. But not about me never loving him. I did. I still do. This ring is proof. It would have never come to me if I didn't love him."
